Generational leadership shift set for today.
‘Reformed Baptist Plus’ is J.D. Greear’s orientation, according to this Sojourn Network interview with him posted late last year.

NC Megachurch Pastor J.D. Greear
"Greear noted that his denomination – the Southern Baptist Convention – has in many ways restricted speaking in tongues and believes 'they are wrong and they are in sin for doing that.'"
"Greear described his church ['The Summit'] as 'charismatics with a seatbelt'" -

Reading pastor Greear's blog, I must say, I am impressed.
Surprisingly, his last few blog entries deal with subjects the Spirit has led my heart on recently as well.
The only big thing I wish I could communicate to him is the need for holiness in southern baptist churches. His emphasis on missions and evangelism is wonderful. Yet, given his recent blog post on the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats, I wonder if he realizes that his call for generosity to poor Christians, among other issues he writes on, is part of a broader issue of holiness in deeds and relationships.
He has been quoted as saying that churches that invest in missions will be remembered, that is true. But, it also seems to me that, given Revelation 2-3, the churches that invest in holiness are those that will not only be remembered, but will survive for generations to come.
To quote President and CEO Greear:

From Greear’s book Breaking the Islam Code: “Believing wrong things about God and worshiping him incorrectly doesn’t mean one is worshipping a different God” (p.59).

This is utter nonsense on stilts. Because allah with the lower case means god with the lower case does not mean that Allah of Islam is God in any sense.
Can anyone recommend another denomination? -
Does this guy really think that "Allah" is the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, of Christianity?

Is it correct to say this about Greear?
2 Corinthians 11:4 (KJV) For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or [if] ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with [him]. -

President and CEO Greear is totally wrong on the god of Islam. He seems to have some bad ideas, including his stance on tongues.
However, we must be careful as he is an elder. Also, we are told to gently rebuke a brother in the bible. Since I doubt anyone here holds him as apostate, that means consistent, respectful correction is needed.
