Hey, I read this book and marked many quotations by James R. White. I do not recommend this book to anyone because of many false comments in this book. He is wrong.Plain Old Bill said:Okay Jim,
If you have one ounce of guts I challenge you to read "The King James Only Controversy" by James R. White. I don't castigate you for being KJO,I am KJP. If you are going to poke fun at others at least know the facts so you can do it intelligently.:godisgood:
Actually, you are the one that is wrong. The book is a good source for refuting the unbiblical notion that is KJVOnlyism.I do not recommend this book to anyone because of many false comments in this book. He is wrong.

Could someone share with me just a couple thoughts as to why one dislikes the HCSB?
DQuixote said:Well, we have the KJV based on the Masoretic text, and the others on the Texus-Recptus. Is one "more accurate" than the other? More reliable? I'm using the NASB at the moment but the KJV, with a good dispensational commentary, is calling me. The HCSB is sort-of a NASB, in my view.

Since it is a fair question, may I ask if you have read the book referred to, whereby you were challenged? TCGreek posted that he thought it was a great challenge. I'll admit I haven't read White's book, nor have I read the one you recommended, and make no insinuations, good or bad, about any book I haven't read. Another's idea, whether or not I generally agree with them, is simply not good enough for that, where I'm concerned.Ehud said:This book has been totally debunked. I challenge you to read Clouds book. "The KJVO controversy" He puts Davy boy to shame, then read "Modern Version Hall of Shame" :applause:
I would be embarrassed to be associated with the Laodicean versions.
We have Laodicean schools, producing Laodicean pastors, who use Laodicean Bibles, that have produced Laodicean churches. “Neither Hot or Cold” :sleeping_2:

Not only the KJVOism, but he also accused the KJV translation.Pastor Larry said:Actually, you are the one that is wrong. The book is a good source for refuting the unbiblical notion that is KJVOnlyism.
