Here is what you said verbatum
"To say that you have to do something (believe, repent, accept, pray the sinner's prayer, walk the aisle, anything) to add to Christ's finished word is to limit the Omnipotence of God. It is to say that God cannot save you without your help."
Please show me where I am being dishonest, I wouldn't want to attribute something to you that you didn't say, but there is the exact quote and it clearly says "It is to say that God cannot save you without your help."
But the Grace of God and His atonement for sin is unlimited.
Can God be called Omnipotent and be limited?
All powerful and be limited?
God cannot sin either, and yet He made man in His image.
Of course that is a different discussion.
It is understood
by his first 8 words......but he can answer very well for himself.
In other words God's work of salvation
results in the things you are concerned about....those things are not the cause but the result .
I did not say "anyone who says you must believe is saying." That is simply untrue. I never said anything about "y0u must believe." All believers, by definition, believe.
"To say that you have to do something", first 8 now Jesus, Paul and Silas said "Believe to be saved"
therefore in his first 8 words he calls what they said into question or it seems too.
This is why you are totally mistaken and fail to grasp God's
Covenant salvation......there is no whosoever, there is....everyone believing
and continuing to believe.
Okay you said, "To say that you have to do something "
meaning if I said it and yet I was quoting scripture so does that statement carry over to anyone or just to me in particular?
So I need not quote scripture that says believe because than as you say I would be saying from scripture that one must believe and therefore they must do something.
that would make me suppose that it must be said Jesus will save you.
Without an explaination of how He will save you, because to say believe and he will save you is adding something on my part, again that's what it seems you are saying.
I am trying to comprehend what you are saying but evidently you just can't explain it well enough for me to grasp it, because the statement as I see says if anyone adds believing then they are saying God can't save you with out help.
Then neither is what I am saying because I am quoting them, whosoever believeth in Him will never perish, so where am I adding to it?
The thing that is the rub is how regeneration occurs or when I should say, believe on the Lord and thou shalt be saved=regeneration.
