Thanks Martin - I failed to fully make that connection.

Your responses come across as displays of Holy Spirit nurturing having taken evidence in you.
That makes them not only pleasant to read, but worthy of consideration.
thank you -

I think the whole basis of the Sacred Name Movement and similar movements is fundamentally flawed when one recognizes that the writers of the New Testament wrote the name as "Iesous," from which we get the English name "Jesus." At least some of the writers knew Aramaic because they translated Aramaic sayings of Jesus. However, they still wrote his name in Greek. It was obviously a nonissue for them.

Thinks its the Person behind that name! -
He, Jesus of Nazareth, is the Son of God, His title (Son of God) is Positionally important in that all Authority is given to Him (He has the "Birthright"); in heaven and on earth. He is THE Lord. Call upon the "the Name" of the Lord--the Power and Authority of the Son of God--to be saved.
Paul said that God Has appointed the One Whom He raised from the Dead to be the Judge of All mankind. He is pointing to the Son of God (1 John also maps this out). -
he may not even be called Jesus in eternity, as the Bible state in revelation that he has a new name written down that only he knows!
