"The economic stimulus signed by President Barack Obama will spread billions of dollars across the country to spruce up aging roads and bridges. But there's not a dime specifically dedicated to fixing leftover damage from Hurricane Katrina.
And there's no outrage about it.
Democrats who routinely criticized President George W. Bush for not sending more money to the Gulf Coast appear to be giving Obama the benefit of the doubt in his first major spending initiative. Even the Gulf's fiercest advocates say they're happy with the stimulus package, and their states have enough money for now to address their needs."

My, my... I seem to recall Katrina relief as being a big thing during the campaign.
And now that there are literally billions and billions of dollars to be passed around willey-nilley... nothing for Katrina relief.
I guess that the high speed rail line between Disney California and the casinos in Sin City is more important.
No Stimulus Money Will Go Toward Katrina Recovery

Google real estate prices in New Orleans. I suspect that many of the trashed houses have been in the family for years. Most didn't have replacement insurance. When the event occurred I knew that the poor people would not be permitted to rebuild even if they had the money, which they don't.
N.O. will be the next "Phoenix" for retired people and young singles. If I was 30 years younger I would be trying to buy up square blocks of trashed houses. -
Also, whoever wrote that article obviously didn't listen to Obama inagural address or bother to read his agenda on the whitehouses website. Not only did Obama introduce legislation as a Senater to help the Katrina victims but his administration vows to put special emphasis in helping the victims... I don't think they'll be left out but you can only do so many things at one time... He hasn't been in office one month yet.
