Bob Jones University reducing staff after $4.5 million expense 'overage' last year
"Bob Jones University will reduce its staff over the next year by about 50 employees, the result of a $4.5 million expense 'overage' in the last fiscal year, school officials said Tuesday."
"Faculty members in academic programs 'where we have more faculty than needed' have been notified that their contracts will not be renewed following the end of this academic year in May, said Randy Page, chief of staff in the BJU president's office....'Between the non-renewal of faculty contracts next May and staff cuts this fall, we anticipate a reduction of approximately 50.' Those whose contracts will not be renewed are being offered the services of an employment placement firm, he said."
