President Barack Obama is willing to embrace insurance cooperatives over a government-run plan as the White House faces mounting opposition to its broad overhaul of the nation's health care system.
Bowing to Republican pressure and offering political cover to fiscally conservative Democrats, Obama's administration signaled on Sunday that it is ready to abandon the idea of giving Americans the option of government-run insurance.
The shift leaves open a chance for compromise with Republicans that probably would enrage Obama's liberal supporters but could deliver a much-needed victory on a top domestic priority.

Looks like John Boehner came short on his predictions, looks like September will be even hotter than August. The Liberals have now been stirred by their leader abandoning their wants.
I forget who said it but some politician said, "I got the right mad at me and I have the left mad at me, I must have it just about right".
His victory will be with people who won't vote for him either way. Is that really a victory for him?
I do not make political statements regardless of who is in the oval office. I narrowly agree with any of the good ole boys butI have to say this boldly: Obana has lied about what he said he was going to do about change. This is one of his biggest lie. He said during his campaign speeches that, Quote: "I am going to give you, the citizens, the SAME INSURANCE THAT CONGRESS HAS." . Unquote.
He has, indeed told us a BALD FACE LIE. Now when a man tells you a big lie, then he has no credentuals of doing the American people right.
