It is reassuring to see Obama/Hagel and Petraeus comfortable with each other the American people needed to see this.

Noticed over the week that Bush is leaning to Obama plan one says time line the other says time horizon.

Same thing

They share a light moment

Republican Chuck Hagel in Bi-Partisan spirit

So far so good seems like a good start to introduce Himself(Obama) as a Commander in Chief. Look for Obama to gain points in that category.

Could we stick to the topic at hand please? Obama's shameful stand on abortion is well known, but it is not the topic of this thread.

Please stick to the topic of him as a potential commander-in-chief of the armed forces.

Roger, Roger. I wonder if Hagel and Petraeus are comfortable with Obama's stance that gays should serve openly in the military.

That's all warm and fuzzy, but the fact is, if you believe his speaches, his mind is already made up about Iraq. Are really supposed to see him as commander-in-chief material because of one conversation with a general who's views are 180 degrees opposite of his?

 You're going to have a very hard time compartimentalizing the qualifications and beliefs of a presidential candidate, Roger.

We're not "single issue voters".

Remember?

Seems as if you are taking some heat for this, thankyou for responding to my reason.

People are free to start other discussions with topics they start.

I just noticed and I believe the American people will notice that these pictures cast a thousand words.

Obama did the right thing by going it was either danged if you do or danged if you don't and so far with Gods looking out for this group they will have great success and then let the American people decide.

To answer the question that one conversation with one general means much, I think it does just see the body language and ease that General Petraeus feels with Barack and you must realize he is meeting with others. Harmi Karzai, Maliki, and Jalal Talabani.

Plus he met with the Sunni group that has just rejoined the government which I thought was wise of him.

Notice how Obama leans in to listen to al-Maliki to be honest I never saw Bush do this.

But this is a single issue thread.

Yes it is and the issue is Obama and everything he stands for.

Your attempts to muzzle some of us will not be well received and most probably ignored.

If you sat down and talked with these people and a picture was taken, I nave no doubt that you would also Look very presidential.

To base one's opinion on a candidates qualification for president on how they Look talking to others is ludicrous, to say the least.

How they Look is somehow supposed to make us forget what they stand for and moderators are here to make sure we don't actually discuss what they stand for when we're supposed to concentrate on what they look like. Just as ludicrous.

That was a moderatorial note. If you do not stick to the topic at hand the thread will be closed.

Threads are to stay on topic.

Please start yet another thread on Obama's shameful stance on abortion if you wish.

But, Roger, if we have a thread on Obama's shameful stance on abortion, we won't be able to discuss really important issues , such as how he looks, in that thread.

I suggest, Sir, that your enforcement of this rule is selective, to say the least. Not to mention uneven and capricious.

Your opinion is noted - now stay on topic or the thread will be closed.

I have been surprised at this "look presidential" thing from day one. Since when is "look presidential" a reason to support a candidate. Are some still deluded by photo ops even after all these years? It is indeed ludicrous.

You're going to be a busy fellow.

Most of the topics in the politics forum are off topic.

I'll look forward to your threats being posted in them as well.

When you do not have any other valid reason for voting for him like experience, knowledge, judgment etc. look are all that is left.
