I was talking about today's economy and how it might affect the 2008 election.
Hannity is a con-man who has discovered how to exploit the simple-minded.
He is divisive and not fit to be on the radio.
Hopefully, at some point a reenactment of the fairness doctrine will cause him and those like him, Limbaugh, Savage, etc off the air.
Yes, it is time to restore balance to the people's airwaves.
I don't want to see the conservatives lose their shows.
However, the public airwaves should have something more than only 15 hours of conservative radio shows or only 15 hours of progressive radio shows on them each weekday.
Sean Hannity has a mean streak on his radio show.
That's why he has never been able to be as good as Rush Limbaugh.
At least Mr. Limbaugh has a sense of humor.
If liberals hasdan audience on the radio and could sell air time they would. Since they have no audience they must force by law and guns radio owners to do what they themselves cannot do through the natural processes of freedom. Talk about authoritarian. Such polices only expose the very core nature of the Democratic party.
A logical fallacy. Then Dems are free to create any program they want on the radio. Nothing is stopping them but theirnown incompetence and a lack of an audience.
Perhaps there's a very good reason that conservative radio is doing so well. Could it be that people listen to it? Hello, no one forces anyone to listen to Rush, Hannity, Boortz... Where I live there is liberal radio as much as there is conservative. But, which one wins the ratings? It conservative radio hands down. Of course according to the fairness doctrine there are these conservative thought police in every car, office, and home forcing people to listen to conservative radio as opposed to Air America. Isn't it funny how liberals who are so free speech oriented would want to limit the speech of others based on the false notion of the fairness doctrine. The fairness doctrine is nothing but political censorship.
The fairness doctrine explicitly violates the first amendment.
With regards to first-amendment rights, it is one of the worst pieces of legislation to have ever been enacted in this country.
Actually it is quite relevant. You just don't like it. However, you are not entitled to make up facts nor to decide their relevancy.
Facts are facts and relevancy is relevancy.
And the public is free to use them . The libs are just as free to use them within the same guidlines that the conservatives are. So ther is nothing about the fact "the airwaves belong to the public" that imposes needless regulation which is being cried out for because of the inability of liberals to create an audience. In other words "No one wants to hear them". So you authoritarians want to force those who do not want to hear you to do that very thing. And if thye refuse to hear you then they do not get to hear anyone. That is what you want.
Curious, why do you libs not want to impose this doctrine on the air waves of television? While the news source on tv are predominatley liberal NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC conservatives do not want a spuedo-fairness. Conservatives are consistent on this issue and liberals are not. There is a fact that needs consideration.
Boo Hoo Hoo, and the tears just fall like rain. We liberals can't get anybody to listen to our dribble on the radio. So in typical liberal fashion we will take control of the airwaves. After all, our line of reasoning is morally superior and the uneducated masses must be indoctrinated with the "truth" of our superiority.
Don't worry.
It won't be long before the right-wing, hate-filled radio is a thing of the past, I hope.
I am going to call my U.S. Representative, a democrat BTW, and tell him I support a return of the fairness doctrine.
Maybe we can see it reinstated after a democrat wins the White House and takes control of both the House and the Senate this November!
