I couldn't vote.....you didn't put "trifocals". :saint:
-
I almost said "You're too young for trifocals!"
But I'm only 3 years younger and have been wearing bifocals since I was 18!:wavey: -
A few months ago I started wearing bifocals. I have the no lines. I used to go without my glasses alot more often. Since I've gone to bifocals, I cant see well at all, without them.
-
Bifocals are a God-send!!
 -
I've had to wear distance glasses for my astigmatism for ages -- but just at night. That changed a few years ago. This year, I've needed reading glasses seriously. I'm wearing 2 pair. I've got to get to the eye doctor because this 2 pair thing is for the birds!
-
Then when I saw the options, I wondered how it is possible to have vision that is better than perfect. -

I got them because I couldn't play the piano or read the computer through the top part of my bifocals. It was for far distances. So I was constantly craning my neck to look through the bottom part. It was for up-close reading.
It was very hard to get used to them and I still sometimes look like one of those "bobbing heads" that people put on their car dash!  -

I remember driving home with my first pair of no-line bifocals. Almost didn't make it. You know, it takes some time to get used to those things.

My prescription glasses have bifocals but I wear them only an hour or two per day.
Glasses, glasses ... which pair shall we pick up next?? -
Never been to the eye doctor here, but with as much time as i have spent in front of a computer over the last 10 years or so...it probably wouldn't hurt.

I received a "convenient injury" years ago.
I have good vision...but my right eye was having trouble focusing my sophomore year in college.
One evening, playing intramural softball, another guy and myself dove for a line drive. It deflected off his glove, and hit my right eye socket. It broke the orbit and gave me a concussion. My opthamologist had no explanation, other than to say, "don't ask. Just enjoy. And don't do it again."
Amazingly, after recovering, my right eye no longer had trouble focusing. I still have 20/20 vision in that eye (20/18 in the other one). -

I've been wearing contacts since I was 13 or so. I would like to get laser surgery one day. I've known so many people who have had this done, and they really seem to be doing well! But my eyesight constantly changes, so I'm not eligible yet.

Contacts for me. Without them, the kids could get by with murder right under my nose!
-
Right now I am wearing my glasses. Since I just got my insurance from work; I will be going to the doctor and getting contacts very soon!
-
I would be legally blind without glasses.

Later, when my son was about 16 we were playing basketball in the driveway and he re-broke my nose with his hard head. Straightened my nose right out!
Not as noteworthy as your injury but still -
I wear bifocals, and recently got a new pair. I have also had retina damage in my right eye, and when I went for an exam about 6 weeks ago the only letter I can read with my unaided right eye is that huge one on top, and barely that one. A photo shows the damage, for which I had laser treatement years ago and how it affects my direct vision. I had a flat tire on Thanksgiving Day, and this eye situation rather compares... as I can make it with that little spare tire, I can make with my left eye carrying my vision, but I can't lose another or then I can't drive.

Been experimenting with yellow tinted glasses and just got a prescription pair. Wish I had done it 40 years ago. Big improvement for night driving and works fine in the sun and indoors.
