Dr. Bob-we live on the coast, not the swamp. Our motto is: If you don't have any relatives here, don't come!

It sure is pretty down there tho. Gib lives near St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island. We also love Tybee Island.

Coast = tidewater swampy lowland, malaria, mosquitos, right? Had kin in Charleston who said that they went up into the "highland" (wherever THAT would be) in the summer because of the coast was unbearable.

Unless you play golf and don't mind stewing in your own juice . . .

Diane, Vivian and I tried to get a room on Tybee Island 21 years ago when we first got married. They said it would be ready when we got there. We pre-paid. When we got there, the room wasn't ready, and they had quadrupled the rate (went from $32 to $128 just like that). The room size was just big enough for a double bed and a bathroom, and you could hardly walk around the bed...no desk, no chair, not even a television for the news at night. When we got there and they asked for that extra pay, my wife went to the pay phone and called the credit card company in front of the clerk (a Pakistani man) and started the dispute process....I had never been cussed at in Pakistani until then...LOL We ended up going to Savannah and spent the weekend there, and we loved it! St. Simons and Jekyll Islands are nice.

We don't stay ON Tybee Island when we've gone. We drive over each day. Of course we ALWAYS eat at William's Seafood. YUM. I eat the fried oyster platter.

It's been a few years since we could afford to do anything. I don't even remember the last time we ate out.

We used to have a friend who managed for Williams Seafood back in the late 80's and early 1990's in Augusta, GA. He was supposed to have been transferred to Savannah, or somewhere around there. They finally closed the one in Augusta, and it's now a realty office, if I recall correctly.

We should have driven to the Island every day...but didn't even think of it after Vivian did that. We've been back once.

We did finally go out to eat the other day. It was Vivian's birthday, and being an "older lady"...LOL (she's only 41) I had to take her out for her birthday. After that hospital stay I had to put it on the credit card. Didn't want to do that, but, hey, she's my baby, and she's worth it! [IMG]

I went for my nuclear tagged red blood cell test yesterday. The test was to take only about an hour and took nearly six, laying flat on my back in one position. They found more kidney damage from diabetes, but didn't find the source of the blood loss. My hemoglobin has gone back down from a little over 12 to 11, so I'm not gaining any ground yet. They have put a type of leukemia up again as a possibility, though I don't believe it's that. They will give me the full results of the scan back on Tuesday. They took over 425,000 pictures, and then had to take another 4,000 right before I left. They still haven't ruled out several other possibilities like the ulcer in the colon or crohn's disease, I believe they said. If my counts go down to 9, they will re-admit me to the hospital.

Oh Tony I sure was praying you'd have an answer by now. We'll just keep praying for you!

Wonder if Dr. Bob has any results?

I don't know. I tried to email him at his website, but the email came back. Thank you for your prayers. We're praying for you and yours, too, as well as Dr. Bob.

Boy Howdy. No results yet, since all tests had to run through state capital labs in Cheyenne. Will get something Friday - probably that I need MORE tests. [insert Grrrrr icon]

State labs are running slow so nobody could tell me anything. All my liver readings were "hot" and they think that might be the source of the infection (or seat of the virus).

What do they recommend for me? Nothing. Sweat it out. Maybe Monday or Tuesday . . .

I went to my ear specialist today! There is a praise in that area. Though I still have to wear 2 hearing aids and have significant hearing loss, the hearing test showed that it is holding steady for now. That was especially good news. It will eventually take a downturn without God's intervention, and I will go deaf in my left ear, and eventually my right.

Diane, I'm praying for you and Jim, too. God bless you both. I'm still praying for Gib and Doc, too.
