Okay, I will mention two obvious choices that have been overlooked. It doesn't mean that I endorse their lifestyles or other regrettable songs that have recorded.
First,Tom Jones (born in 1940). Here are some songs I enjoy:

And he does a very good version of Roy O's song :In Dreams
Then,there is Engelbert Humperdinck (born in 1936). Both E.H. and Tom were under the same manager earlier in their careers --Gordon Mills. But now their sons manage their dads.
