One volume Bible Commentary ?

    The King James Bible commentary.Not because it says KJ but because it is a good little 1 volume commentary and is solid biblically.Just to qualify I am not KJVO.

    A one volume commentary just doesn't get into the things you really want a commentary for.

    I'd suggest getting a popular study Bible (with notes) and saving your money for a good multivolume set AND/OR purchasing individual commentaries on particular books that you are studying.
