The Christian Lobby Forum is not a typical discussion forum.
This is an ACTIVISM forum, where information is shared on issues of interest to the Christian community worldwide and specific action steps (send email/snail mail, call, etc.) are required of forum members.
It is my sincere belief that just a few of us CAN make a difference.
The ACLU and other homosexual activists (for example) have been very successful in every area of life - and their numbers are just a tiny fraction of Christians in this country.
Access to the forum: will be given to all BaptistBoard.com members who affirm their interest in the causes listed below and agrees to "take action" as described by moderators on the various upcoming issues.
Our Christian Lobby Forum will open on January 1, 2003.
Discussion in 'News & Announcements' started by bb_baptist, Dec 27, 2002.

Issues of interest to Christian_Lobby:
Christian Persecution: Around the world, in over 40 countries, our brothers and sisters face daily persecution for their faith in Jesus Christ. "Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body." Hebrews 13:3.
Politics: We will try to do something about how our politicians are changing the Judeo-Christian values that have underpinned our country and were the very foundation of our laws.
Education: Protect the freedom of homeschooling. Enable Creationism to be taught in Science classes, and discourage sex education which promotes/encourages so called safe sex.
Right-to-Life: Take an active part in stopping abortion, electing pro-life leaders, oppose euthanasia and cloning, etc. Since 1973's Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, more than 43 million precious lives have been lost to abortion — one every 22 seconds.
Family: to fight against the liberal ideas of what constitutes a family. Oppose aggressive homosexual agenda.
Public Vices: stop the easy accessability, both in stores and online (gambling, porn, drugs, etc.).
Media: Join other organizations in objecting to the negative influence of television programs on our families.

All interested in making a difference for Christ should send a Private Message to one of the forum moderators and request the forum password.

Can you clarify, the paragraph on politics appears to imply that this relates to things appertaining to your country.
If that is so are you concerned with drawing Americans together to speak on American issues. That would odviously exclude myself.
yours, Jon. -

Thanks for the suggestion. Wording has been added.
Any other suggestions? -
Who are the moderators?
~Teresa~ -
To get in touch with them, you can just click on their names and the e-mail format will pop up with one of their e-mail addresses. -
Hey Teresa, you want me to paint it for you by the number?
Actually, when you click on their names (one at a time), you will have their profile opening up. You may at that time click on their e-mail address or if not shown, click the "Send New Private Message" thingy amd type away your request! -
Ok, THAT was funny! I read Access to the forum: will be given to all BaptistBoard.com members who have been very successful in every area of life - and their numbers are just a tiny fraction of Christians in this country.
I have GOT to stop skimming posts! Luckily I went back and reread it! That was too weird, yet funny!

Ok....I finally got logged in!
Hey, Barnabas! Wait up! I may be young, but I guess not as fast as you've become through wisdom of age! ;)
So...I click on the Internet Explorer button, and then I have to connect to the Internet....now...how do I get to the BaptistBoard?! ;) -

Yes I'd like to see an answer to Jon's post too.

Besides, you could support us in Christian persecution worldwide. -

In Australia we have two groups, Saltshakers and Federation for the Family. F.O.F actually sent Australian Playboy magazine bankrupt by constantly hitting their advertisers. Believe me Christian Activism can achieve much. the problem and I dont think it will happen in a properly moderated forum, can be internal problems between people. For example one denomination is better than other type fights.

Either as a separate item or included under politics I think that one of the priorities should be to support appointment of conservative judges. I think it should be a separate item to highlight the importance of preventing future appointments from being "Borked", which is not a foregone conclusion even with the slim Republican majority in the Senate.

I'm sorry , but on reflection I have not been impressed with how some in the board have been allowed to post insensitively on sensitive as well as international issues to date. For me to be associated with this lobby I would like to see better monitoring on some of these issues.
yours, Jon. -
Wow. It hasn't even started yet and there's fireworks.
Right about now I'm asking what I got myself into.
Hehe
This otter be fun! :D
