Cindy Sheehan quote from the above article:

"to take America's battles to another land and make an entire country pay for the crimes of others? To me, this is blatant genocide."

Scripture in fulfillment of her observation:

Rev. 18:24 - "In her was found---all who have been killed on the earth."

Lest we all forget how 'great' he is. Nothing like tooting your own horn there Georgie. Charity is best done in private.

She may be telling the truth or embellishing her story to get her desired result.

It appears she approached the meeting as an attack dog and he was understandably wary after she attacked him.

Or most of this may be fabricated out of her vindictive imagination.

Who knows?

And you are from California, therefore, the "nut" part of your name makes perfect sense.

You make out like Texans are dumb, but you in CA are the ones paying our oil and gas companies 5 times what anyone else does. Just keep sending us your money and you can call us dumb all you like. :D

As if we in California have a choice in what we pay for gas and oil!

Come on people, let's keep the personal attacks down.

Think about it. She was understandably distraught over the loss of her son. And she blamed Bush. Also understandable.

So she entered the meeting expecting to see cold eyes and an uncaring attitude. Expecting to hear a Texas accent she despised. So she did. Human nature at work.

And she says, "Why did you even bother to bring us here when I didn’t vote for you and don’t support the illegal nature of your war?"

She went into the meeting determined not to accept his condolences regardless of how well he expressed them.

My question is like the one she says she asked the President. Why did she go to the meeting? Maybe to get the opportunity to tell the story she's telling.

The outcome was predetermined in her mind and it's no surprise she saw things one way when an unbiased bystander may have seen it differently.

There is no way you could be convinced that the truth is anything other than what you think it is. A closed mind is a very dangerous thing.

To deny that that is , at least a possibility, is to truly have a "closed mind".

Republican presidential candidate Gary Bauer criticized Gov. George W. Bush for making fun of an executed Texas woman in an interview Bush gave to Talk magazine. "I think it is nothing short of unbelievable that the governor of a major state running for president thought it was acceptable to mock a woman he decided to put to death." Just before her execution date, Tucker appealed for clemency on the grounds that she had become a born-again Christian. Bush's reply: " `Please,' Bush whimpers, his lips pursed in mock desperation, `don't kill me,' "

 This is why I never come here, anymore. Probably will keep me away for a while longer. Thanx for making my decision to stay away the right one.

My dad was born & raised in San Antonio. Graduated from Burbank high in '55.

For starters, the quote is misleading. Governor Bush did not order the deaths of any offender in TDCJ, the people of the great state of Texas decided the fates of those murderers.

Secondly, that whole website is moronic. They use Gary Graham and Karla Faye Tucker as their "poster people", yet Graham was convicted for murder and multiple attempted murders, including shooting a man's legs off with a shotgun, and Tucker murdered a man and woman with a hatchet.

Frankly, I think the people of Texas were rather lenient on these butchers. They should have been beaten and then hanged.

TH, I think it's rather comical that prophecynut considers Texans to be without brains, yet we have got you all in California by the throats to pay more for oil and gas. We have no brains, yet we somehow have outsmarted yall. Go figure. :D

Well, BJR, there are a couple of ways to look at that. We in California pay more because we have such strict pollution laws. In the 60's when I was a kid, we had many, many smog alerts during the summer. It has been years since we've had one! So, I say it's worth the price for the extra high grade oil and the extra refining:)

But there again, this is something that was voted, so the people spoke.

I'm a Californian born and raised. But I dare you to try and pull the wool over my eyes;)

It only pays to have a lot of brains if you use them:)

</font>[/QUOTE]I was careless. I should have inserted the words"may have" in a couple of spots so you would have known I did not already have my mind made up but was willing to consider those possibilities.

Such as:

"She may have went into the meeting determined not to accept his condolences regardless of how well he expressed them."

Have you noticed or observed that the Bush administration does not even use the word
compassionate conservative anymore...it was
supposed to be that great big defining phrase
of the Bush White house.

He has 3 years to resurrect it but it means
cleaning up all his messes and tying the
rope on the dock as our country is adrift.

"COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATIVE" is it a joke now!
or was it a phrase to just hype people into
voting for him?

One thing is for sure you don't hear a peep
of it coming out of the white house.

Thanks for the clarification, carpro:)

I'm glad you are here. You are a worthy debate opponent:)

Aslanspal, yes, we are adrift. And yes, the messages coming from the White House are in constant flux. And yes, Bush will do and say whatever he can to keep his precious votes and his precious approval numbers. These are the things that men do when they are overcome with an evil we call pride. He is using God's name in vain. His pre-emptive war, waged without cause or justification... meaning there was not clear and present danger or threat to the US at the time, screams of a terrorist act! That begs for someone to do the same thing to us!
