A prominent Southern Baptist Pastor tweeted his desire that foreign governments meddle in the 2020 US Presidential election. The goal? Defeat Donald Trump.
“If I were the head of state for an American ally, I would be working to convince other American allies to work together to hack the next election to choose for the US a normal president so we could return things to normal. The world can’t afford more of this,” SBC pastor Thabiti Anyabwile tweeted.
Thabiti Anyabwile is the pastor of a Southern Baptist Church, Anacostia River Church of Washington, DC.
That is an old tweet. But he certainly seems to be promoting dishonesty.
But if you really want to make your head spin....he
said today the "social justice movement" doesn't exist. Says those like Tom Ascol have made it up in order to promote an "anti" movement.
I remember a prominent t.v. pastor tell his listeners to pray one of the supreme court justices die of cancer. Shameful.
There has been constant involvement of pastors prominent or not in directing their congregations to vote (one way or the other depending on political views) and casting their political views to their salvation.
Right, I hereby acknowledge that I do not know of anyone that has done the exact same thing that you mentioned.
I said the "same kind of thing" by which I meant pastors or other prominent religious leaders linking politics with religious standing before God.
Asking Christians to pray for death by cancer toward a supreme court justice is....
I don't care about that. The point I was making was that he promoted both dishonest and illegal behavior. I don't know of anyone who has done what you said.
Being "formally SBC" is irrelevant. Neither is he a pastor. However, if that is what he did it is equally wrong but it doesn't disqualify him from office as he doesn't occupy an office. So, not the same thing.
Leftism has been creeping into the Church.
Leftist "christians" show this by voting leftist, by not voting at all, or by voting third party.
It's a strategy the left has orchestrated, and it will be in full swing next year.
There will be an intense push to convince Christians it's more pious, in fact their duty not to vote, and many will buy into it. Thankfully, most did not in the last election, and I think even more will turn out in 2020, but we have actively speak with our brothers and sisters regarding this issue.
I believe any Pastor promoting voting for leftists due to a hatred for the President, is indeed, disqualified, especially in light of how Trump has governed.
He's either ignorant or a wolf, and neither scenario is good.
He's promoting voting for leftism, which is the antithesis of Christianity.
He wanted Hillary to win, knowing full well what she stood for.
That is what disqualifies him.
