For all of you fbc churches and also anyone else who would be so kind as to lift a family up in prayer... a dear friend of mine who is also a pastor hear in southern California was informed on saturday that his 24 yearold son was killed while serving in Iraq. Pastor Rob Watkins currently pastors the Calvary Baptist Church in Yucca Valley, California. He and his family would greatly benefit from your prayers at this time. Thank you for bearing another man's burden with him. I personally knew Timothy, he was a very godly young man with a great testimony for the Lord Jesus...He was a witness among his fellow soldiers as well.

As requested I have prayed for Timothys'family. That God wrap His Holy arms around them and show forth all His love and comfort at this time.Timothy is with the Lord in heaven now but I will remember him as an American hero who gave all for his country.Without the Timothys we would not have the freedoms we have now.God bless you and keep you with Him in heaven Timothy.

Lord, comfort this family.

I am sorry to hear about this young mans death. I was encouraged to hear that he had a great testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ.
I leave for Iraq next month. I am an independent, fundamental, Baptist Army Chaplain and would appreciate your prayers.
Perhaps I will meet some soldiers who were impacted by Timonthy's testimony! -

Brethren, as we pray for this pastor's son, Tim Watkins, let's also pray for Jim Leslie (the previous post) who will be leaving soon. Not only will he be in harm's way himself, but he will have a challenging ministry to the soldiers who are there.
Jim is well trained (Maranatha BBC Grad), has a heart for the Lord and is leaving behind his family to serve in Iraq. He is a member of my church and in need of our prayers.
God bless you, Jim, as you serve our soldiers. -
Praying for this dear family, Jesus. Be with and comfort them. In Your precious name I pray amen and amen.

I believe this is the church I went to when I was stationed at 29 Palms in 1978. I knew nothing about the Bible or really what a Baptist was. Some of the Dear people in the church at the time came all the way to base to pick up fellows, then took us under thier wing for all day, every Sunday. Thank God for a Church in Yucca Valley and God please Bless this dear family in thier tragic loss. Freedom is not free. Semper Fi from an old Jarhead. I am thankful for thier son and all the young men who are willing to go into harms way for all of us!

JUST AN UPDATE:
I am also aquianted with the Watkins family, and have just heard some great news. Tim's dad and grandfather preformed his memorial service, where 2 people were led the LORD!!!
Also, there were over 500 people in attendance, all of which got the gospel!
The LORD always, always works! Even when we can't see or understand why!
Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Thanks to all who responded! and please keep the continued prayers of comfort comming for the family, as well as prayers of the Lord's protection and blessing for all of our soldiers at home and abroad! GOD BLESS!!!
