    Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord.
    And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.

    Of course, some are appointed to eternal life.
    Some are predestined, chosen, called.
    But, some of these fall way, fall from grace, etc.
    Man has the responsibility to co-operate.

    The best way is come to the end of oneself,
    give it all to Jesus, and trust the Holy Spirit
    to do everything necessary for you.
    Which is ... to get rid of all of your sins!
    If He does not succeed, you're not going to heaven.

    Many are called, but few are chosen!

    Samuels, you are creating a doctrine that doesn't exist.

    "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
    He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:16-18)

    Clearly our personal choice. As it should be, since the consequences are our own.

    And who will choose? The one who is the enemy of God and does not believe in Him, or the one God has given a new heart of faith to believe, repent, and obey?

    IMO, not all to whom God "gives a new heart of faith" believe with the SAME belief-faith-trust.
    Because God does NOT major in creating robots ... especially ones with no free-will.
    Some NT believers will choose to be disciples, and some will choose to not obey to that extent.
    So, to me, the real question is ... Does one need to be a "disciple" of Jesus to get to heaven?
    None of those in the church today who are habitual sinners can be classified as disciples!

    NONE of us would choose to accept Jesus, not until God grants us a new heart and gives us saving faith!
