Is there a good freeware converter for PDF to Word and word to PDF?
If not that is fine.
Thanks all.

Depending on the version of Office you use it is possible you have that ability now in the "save as" menu.
You may also try a program called OpenOffice. -
I downloaded open office but at this point I do not see where I can convert the PDF to text document but it does allow convert from text to PDF. Perhaps I am missing something in the menu.

Do you have Office? If so, which year?

I have MS Office 2010. I just downloaded (last hour) Open Office to see if I could convert PDF file in order to type information into it and resave. No luck at this point.

Is it a pdf you created?
I am assuming you have Adobe Acrobat. -

Can you copy the pdf and paste into Word?

Adobe Acrobat will work.
It isn't free. -

Google pdf to do converter and you should find some freebies that will work or at least a cheaper one. You might also find an older adobe on ebay.

Yeup, I had to use a free trial version of Acrobat for a conversion I'm working on. One caveat, be prepared to do a line by line edit of the document, especially if the original is full justified. The conversion puts in multiple spaces when you only want one or one when you want two. Not to mention what it does to margins.

To make a PDF (from any document that you can print) I use PDF995. It works very well.
To convert a PDF to Word (assuming you don't have that capability in your version), I've been using Nuance PDF, which is free. It requires uploading a PDF to the site; when it's converted, you download the document. It's a little cumbersome, but it's worked very well.
