Turns out that was a lie.
The Sgt.-at-Arms suggested it to her.
It was also a lie that she tried to get the largest and most luxurious plane.
According to the Dallas Morning News (whiich endorses Bush) the story was made up by a group of "Aggressive" republican junior lawmakers.
They lied, they got caught and now they're paying for it.
And the more they try to spin it, the worse it gets for them.
Yeah, I just bet they are untrue.
While in several posts I have raked the party I voted for over the coal for leadership failure, the democrats are no better in the area of having the interests of the American people at heart.
They are just as self centered and power hungry as the republicans
Both parties together have 100% of the power in this country.
The difference is a facade.
Neither cares about those who voted them into office.
If you dont believe me, let a third party show significant strength, and watch the two rats join forces.
It should be obvious to any casual observer that we need two new parties that will govern based on what is best for the people.
She's human and a politician - I'm sure you're correct that she is not a paragon of virtue. However, specific charges or vague allegations should be substantiated or not posted.
Quote:
Pelosi requested a plane that could fly non-stop to San Francisco.
Maybe you should inform Pelosi she didn't really ask for a plane that could fly non-stop to San Francisco when she said:
"I want an aircraft that will reach California," Pelosi told reporters Wednesday afternoon, insisting that she doesn't care what kind of plane it is as long as it can fly nonstop to her home district.
Liberals conveniently forget Pelosi was guilty of some of the same things DeLay was accused of.
She and several other democrats had to scramble to report goodies paid for by lobbiests that they had somehow "overlooked".
Why don't you show it? For that matter, why not cite your evidence start with? Unless it's off an embarrassing rightwing shill site, a hate radio talk show or a mass emailing - if that's the case, I understand your reluctance.
Pelosi Turns In Delinquent Reports for 3 Sponsor-Funded Trips

EXCERPT
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) filed delinquent reports Friday for three trips she accepted from outside sponsors that were worth $8,580 and occurred as long as seven years ago, according to copies of the documents.
The filing is among hundreds of revisions from members of both parties who have amended missing or incomplete reports as scrutiny of lawmaker travel has intensified.
The ideologically blind have an abundance of selective memory issues.
All you have to do is open your eyes, Daisy.
They're all alike.
Even your favorites.
She already knows it.
The House Sgt.-at-Arms advised her that it was necessary for security reasons, and as he did for Hastert, requested the same thing for her.
Now she does, but she didn't request it.
And you can see that it was also a lie that she wanted the largest and most expensive plane.
Even Bush refuses to take part in a dishonesty this foolish.
He might be a little slow, but he's not that slow.
Technically, it's a preference.
A demand is when one insists one gets what one wants.
But since, as you now concede, Pelosi never requested the aircraft at all, should we attack the House Sgt.-at-Arms for suggesting the same thing as he suggested for the former (male, republican) Speaker?
If so, why wasn't this an issue for you when Hastert accepted the same thing?
Nope.
We know that's a lie.
Turns out the Sgt.-at-Arms told her that was the proper thing to do.
Just as he did for Hastert.
The Dallas Morning News reports that the scam was hatched by some "aggressive junior lawmakers" from the GOP side.
Now that they got caught, they're trying to spin their way out of it.
Let's keep this one going for a while.
carpro again exercises his imagination:
Well, it's no worse then the other stuff you made up.
Amazing what you can find on the internet these days.
Here are the spec's on a Gulfstream III.
Hmmm..... Perhaps the trip from Washington D.C. started out heading East?
That is the only way it would need to refuel.
I'm sure that's what they were thinking.
Or perhaps a simple geography class and Altas would have helped them determine distance.
It's just dishonest to say that this aircraft is unable to fly nonstop to CA or just being ignorant of the FACTS.
