Andrea Mitchell puts it in perspective

CNN(CNN) — A top aide to Barack Obama said Friday the campaign canceled a scheduled visit to an American military base in Germany the day before because the Pentagon expressed concerns it would be viewed as a campaign trip.
The incident is representative of the delicacy with which the Obama campaign has attempted to navigate the Illinois senator's entire journey abroad — at once staging elaborate photo-ops beamed back to the American media while at the same time insisting that Obama's trip is not a political one by definition.
It was a danged if you do and danged if you don't because if he had gone todays headline pushed by the right wing would have been "Obama uses wounded soldiers for political purpose" but as it stood the Pentagon took the first initiative to discourage the visit not Obama. He did visit a medical unit in Iraq so he did not ignore wounded soldiers on his trip.
I think the extreme envy of the envy and jealousy pushed
people to meddle and muddle the waters but I think Senator Obama clearly wanted to go and was looking forward to it ,so to be fair and balanced I think it was the Pentagon bureaucracy that failed us and not Senator Obama who was walking a tight rope on this trip and successfully so.
Thanks to Andrea Mitchell an investigative reporter and journalist for the perspective.
Pentagon discouraged Obama visit, listen to Andrea Mitchell

How many times had Obama been to Iraq prior to his candidacy ? So playing basketball with the troops doesnt look political but visiting the injured troops does?
-
Rules and then Rules changed
Rev.Mitchell:"So playing basketball with the troops doesnt look political but visiting the injured troops does?"
Playing basketball with the troops is just plain fun!
If you listen to the investigative piece by Andrea Mitchell she explains that their are rules and the Pentagon in my opinion seemed to change the rules. Clearly Senator Obama wanted to visit and wanted it subdued just like his visit to the wounded in Iraq.
We now know their were political shennanigans going on with Obamas trip anything to trip him up but to his help from God in perserverance he had a successful trip. -
Why don't you comment on the unfair treatment the Pentagon showed toward Obama? -

God doesn't support those who support the holocaust of millions of children every year. God does not support Obama or his fake trip. -

He also worked out a gym.
Even MSNBC realizes he cancelled because he couldn't get one of his precious photo-ops in:
Priorities, ya know. -
I heard a report that Obama could have come, but with no media!
So Obama chose not to come.
Military regulations prohibit political campaigning in a military base.
Only military media would be authorized -

You can always trust Andrea Mitchell.
Bottom line, no cameras, no Obama.
There's not a sincere bone in his narrow frame. -
I disagree because and I think you can trust Andrea Mitchell
I exercised this morning as well, when I travel overseas they encourage me to exercise because it diminishes jet lag and prevents blood clots in others words do not be sedentary.
I think the Talk Radio talking heads want to make something out of this and clearly Andrea Mitchell who is a moderate in my estimation, married to a Republican is being fair and she investigated it.To me that is the final word and Obama did not have any insensitive motive what so ever he loves the troops and supports them and they love him back.

I think Senator Barack had a successful trip and he wisely walked a tightrope
, I see no inclination what so ever he use wounded soldiers for political gain as
what he did in Iraq keeping his visit a private matter to wounded soldiers his motive was to do the same in Germany but I think those who were jealous and envious of his successful trip are trying to make hay out of this and the major
investigative journalist have delivered the truth and not talking head pundit commentators who never leave a comfy chair. -

I'm glad you think she'sderate. I think she's an opinionated hack, along with the rest of MSNBC. There's only Scarborough left, and I don't expect him to last. They got rid of Tucker for not playing. The entire network is a laughing stock. It doesn't matter what the pundits are saying. Mitchell wasn't the only reporter there.
By the way, off topic, your screen name is one of the most offensive things I have the unpleasure of seeing, everyday, and I wish you would change it. It is extremely hard for me to believe you are a christian with that.
BTW, check out how easy it is to get Chris Matthews to shut up.....
(Sorry about the newsbusters site, but I can't seem to find this on You tube.)

Some highlights.....
HEATHER WILSON: Barack Obama has always had a great charismatic style, but the substance has never been there and his inexperience is one of the things that troubles a lot of people. Saying something like there's a wall between the United States and Europe? We've been allies with Western Germany and with Germany as a whole since the end of the Second World War. NATO is one of our strongest alliances. And so, what's he talking about? What's the substance behind that --
CHRIS MATTHEWS: He's talking about the fact that Europeans, Europeans hate George Bush.
WILSON: I think one of the things he tried to do in Israel was to reassure Americans that the mistakes he made with respect to Middle East policy because of his experience maybe they shouldn't be concerned about that. He went there because of his inexperience to try to give himself some kind of kind of patina of credibility.
MATTHEWS: Are you say the United States has had a good relationship with Europe in the last seven years?
WILSON: Absolutely. Yes. The US relationship with NATO, with the UK, our relationship with the United Kingdom has never been closer, and that's been spurred by common, mutual interest. I used to serve at NATO when there were 16 NATO countries and we were facing the former Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact. We have very close relationships withour western european allies and I think that continues with Angela Merkel or president Sarkozy or with the Brits. I think very close relationships.....
.....WILSON: To say that somehow there is a wall in NATO that's running somewhere down the Atlantic shows Senator Obama's inexperience when it comes to understanding where we are. You see that on a number of other things. I mean, look at his platform. He has these kind of message-tested, poll-tested things like, we should, Barack Obama will make sure we take -- he'll negotiate with the Russians to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert. It's a great idea: it was done 20 years ago. He seems to be unaware of American history. And that's inexperience which causes people some real concern about whether he's ready for the Oval Office.
Anyhoo, yup, poor ole' Barack, he keeps changing his positions, and now his fans complain because we don't believe a word he says. No matter who's saying it for him. I think they're lieing. I've seen enough to decide he didn't go out of arrogance. They were going to use military photogs, and he didn't like that, one bit. That's what I think happened.
I expect his rubber band to snap, any day. Just like when America had finally had it with the Bee Gees, Obama fatigue is gonna hit, hard. My bet is in about 70 days. -

Very much off topic and questioning my faith whats up with that? sorry you are having a bad day and are losing this debate:tonofbricks:
Yeah I don't think Newsbusters would be on any of the community's since it is not mainstream.
The Internet is changing and is filled with community's YouTube, GodTube,Xanga, and Stickam to name a few and many Christians are on these sites so my screen name is very pertinent.

Folks, I just gotta throw this in: How many of you actually think the military would tell a sitting Senator, much less a presidential candidate, "you can't come" ?
They would, of course, advise him of the limitations of their support (such as, can't be seen as endorsing any particular candidate, party, or political stance); but does anyone here really believe that any of our Senators or Representatives would let the military tell them "no"? -

No one told anyone they could not see the injured troops. That was one of two lies put out by the Obama campaign. -
