What the Bible does say (my paraphrase) is to take the telephone pole out of your own eye before you attempt to take the tiny speck of dust out of others. You sit back and judge, even condemn others for their view or opinion on Joseph's post. This is a free nation. Since when do you have the right to silence other peoples' rights to express opinions, and the right to condemn them. You have violated Scripture by judging the motives of others. Yet at the same time, you refuse to take any criticsm or judgement yourself. That, my friend, is hypocrisy at its very zenith. I gave you my take on the story. It wasn't that humorous to me: but it did point out some central fallacies about the Charismatic movement. And yet you will criticize that as well

It's a free country, yes, but it's a freedom which allows people to defend the rights of others as well, isn't it? That is what I am doing, and I see no place in this thread where anyone has demonstrated to me, from Scripture, that to do so is contrary to the wishes of Christ.

In reading your post, you are correct in saying I will view this as a personal attack. So many second-person-singular accusations and outright condemnation could scarcely be seen as anything else. Remember, though, that you're well within your rights to attack me personally. It would be beneficial, though, if you would do so while actually offering a morsel of edification in re this subject.

 

I have randomly taken one example (the first one I saw) which was at the top of the page. Consider:
"YOU keep right on..."

Go through 21 pages and look at your own posts and see how often YOU use this very word YOU. YOU make the accusation of YOU in your posts. YOU think it is okay for YOU to criticize and judge others. But when YOU address others it is not a personal attack, only when others address YOU it is a personal attack. Again this is the height of hypocrisy. YOU can address others as YOU and attack their position, but others dare not address YOU, for then it becomes a personal attack. That is pure hypocrisy.

As Joseph pointed out: Just what positon are you defending? The right for somemone to hold to heresy? Sure they have that "right" if they so desire. But any person who holds an heretical view can expect that heresy to be picked apart and perhaps even mocked, just as Elijah mocked the prophets of Baal. Will you also berate Elijah?? It has been pointed out to you time and time again that the post itself shows how heretical the position the Charismatic movement takes really is. If you are so blind that you cannot see this, then what more after 21 pages can we do to help you?

It's heresy because you say it's heresy. That's the point: you guys haven't been "confronting heresy," you've been making fun of people you don't like. Enough "you's" for ya?

The position I continue to defend is that it is not in ripping other Christians apart that we most passioantely defend the faith, but in learning to love one another in the unity of faith that we most closely relfect the One who died and rose for us.

Mocking is not permitted by some offhanded reference to Elijah. And my eyes are just fine, thanks.

 

Proverbs 1:23-26

"Turn to my reproof, behold I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you; Because I called and you refused, I stretched out my hand, and no one paid attention; And you neglected all my counsel, and did not want my reproof; I will even laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your dread comes."

God's Word has been made known to us about modern day tongues speaking and it clearly teaches us the fallacy of it. Many have refused the truth of the Scriptures and then play it off that they just see the Scriptures differently. In actuality, they enjoy their "experiences" too much to consider the plain truth. They have neglected the counsil of God in this matter and do not want reproof.
