but two states; Vermont and Maine Will Clinton break that record?

No, I don't think either Trump nor Hilary will get over 50% of the Popular Vote.
If this election has done anything it has awoken people to the idea that the only ones locking themselves into a 2 party system is themselves.
Johnson is clearly pulling from both sides of the isle, with Bernie Supporters and some Never trumpers going for him.
Now the electoral college I think will be a landside, since Trump has put new states into play, but they were states that used to be solid red.
