Why don't they 'like' being 'accused' of 'IDOLATRY'? Why??? do you call it 'imagery' if it is IDOLATRY?
And you call me confusing to the sheep.
Tell me why brother so that I won't be confused. Explain to me why such would not like being called idolators, would you?

Jesus told us how to pray, and his instruction does not include the names of his mother or his friends. He never said to bow before images of any of them either.
The Catholics say they don't but their statuary says different. -
I agree with you. But they do not appreciate being called idolators because of the sinfulness of it; so should we cater to their wishes? Or should we declare the Word of God and let it be as He has written?

HOW OFTEN I WANTED to gather your children.. BUT YOU Would Not!
Oh what gyrations the Calvinist is forced into as he attempts to avoid the obvious, direct, force of this text.
And yet that is all that is left for our Calvinist bretheren in Matt 23.

Second, distinction should be made between 'gather your children' and 'you were not willing'. The Lord clearly is talking about two different groups. He wanted to gather the children (people of Jerusalem) but the pharisees (YOU...) were not willing to let them go. Please see also Mat 23:13 referring to the same issue.
Truth never dies...
