Maybe the American people are finally waking up on this issue.

Wait, I thought 4 in 5 support it?!?! I'm not a quantum physicist...but shouldn't that be 20% oppose?
-
If it works, I'm okay with it.
I'd rather be felt up than blown up.
But I doubt it really works particularly well. -
-
The difference might be when the polls were taken. There has been so much of this in the news, it has probably changed the numbers.

I travel a lot, and I am against it.
I have a titanium knee, and since this new stuff started at the airports where I have been, I get very irritated at the special treatment I get. It takes me ten minutes to get past the gate when it is my turn.
A lot of people will start driving, bus, or travel by train to avoid the airports now, or we might not travel any more at all. I am one of them.
I will not surrender any more of my freedom just to achieve a tiny bit of security. If an enemy terrorist wants to take down an airplane, they don't even have to get on the plane to do it. It is all a false sense of security, and it is costing us greatly.
It is time we speak up. -
When you do speak up three things will happen. You'll be ridiculed and called a nutcase, you'll be accused of putting others in danger [LINK] and you'll be suspected of being a domestic extremist and probably put on a "no fly" list.

The CBS poll...was it taken of travellers, or the public in general? I could see two very different results, depending on the population questioned.
Likewise with the 2nd poll...who was asked?
And yes, I'm sure publicity changed the numbers. But I'm all for exposure of an issue.
Wait....that didn't come out right.... -
"The interactive poll consisted of 2,032 likely voters and has a margin of error of +/-2.2%. A sampling of Zogby International's online panel, which is representative of the adult population of the U.S., was invited to participate. Slight weights were added to region, party, age, race, religion, gender, and education to more accurately reflect the population."
It appears that the polls participants were self selecting - which could have greatly skewed the results. -
Any poll taken from a group other than a group of frequent flyers can be made to reflect whatever opinion the poll-taker wants.

I hope this poll is correct or else the U.S. constitution is truly nearly gone.
