Since Senator McCain is the only one of the three candidates in the survey with military experience the result is to be expected.
Of course, being the commander-in-chief of the armed forces is only a portion of a president's job duties, albeit a very important one if this nation is attacked.
As someone who is a Senator Obama supporter I might have voted for Senator McCain in answer to this poll question myself. -
Hillary and Obama are defeatists.
No one wants a military leader that is looking for an opportunity to surrender. -
The person(s) who would make the best President is not running in this race. We have been left with an old Washington insider, a career politician who could not be honest if she tried, and a new kid on the block who has less experience and knowledge than Bush did in '00 (ie...an empty suit). We are in trouble anyway you look at it.
O, I have a McCain sticker on my truck. It is called the lesser of three evils. I am getting more and more critical of our political process everyday and everyday my support for McCain struggles to stay afloat. I may not express that feeling a lot on these boards, but the truth is I am still a Ron Paul supporter. -
Still got my Ron Paul license plate on my truck.

Yup. I even have my wife yelling at me about "Crazy Uncle Ron", but when she sees him on TV now, she listens.
She still wishes Romney was in. -
Couple years into the next "presidency" the people who dissed and dismissed him will be wishing they had listened to ole "crazy uncle Ron" too.

Obama will make a better president overall than either McCain or Clinton. As Ken said, being Commander-in-Chief is only one thing the president is responsible for.
I believe that most people are more concerned about the economy than they are the military and Iraq. If I am correct and the economy doesn't turn around by November, McCain will not win the presidency. -
I like the recent suggestion that we should be allowed to vote "none of the above". I would pray that choice would win.
Our nation is in trouble and we don't have anyone running for president, at this time, who knows how to fix it. Obama is just guessing. He knows very little about what things will be like "if" he actually ends up in the oval office. Which he will probably spend who knows how much of our money redecorating (just like Bush did). Shameful! -
