lori4dogs is Anglican according to their profile, which is basically the same as Catholic for all intents and purposes... especially since the Catholic Church is throwing wide the doors for Anglicans who are elaving due to the homosexuals being appointed of late. You could point out until you are blue in the face and it won't make a difference.

Actually, I think Johndeerfan knows what I'm talking about. And I'm not talking exclusively about him. Many other Baptist posters have made the same observations certain postings by people who use every opportunity to Catholic bash. There is a difference between stating a position and calling someone an apostate, heretic, cult member, etc.

Since you have the 'true doctrine' and there is no chance that my positions have any grounding in the word and since in my posting anything on this board will make no difference I should leave right? By the way, I've stated my reasons for posting on the BB over and over.

And as far as the 'Catholic's should repent' comment, my bible says' ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

I agree that the cover ups are disgusting. If it had happened in just one church it would need swift action. I'm not sure that is not happening in the case in Ireland. The pope does not state what is being done but knowing this popes track record as Cardinal Ratzinger, I suspect it is happening.

I will state that it is 2% of Catholic clergy that believed to be pedophiles and that leaves 98% that are not. It is that 2% that need to be given the boot and in the case of the ones who have offended little children, they need to be in prison.

BTW, excommunication is meant to be a temporary effect as means to bring about repentance in an individual. It is meant to be a wake up call. I don't know of the incident you are talking about but if it has been used as a way to coerce someone then that is disgusting as well.

There is nothing happening, except taxpayer money being given to victims.

Yes, all of us have sinned, this is true.

So, other than feeling like catholics are being "bashed" here, what are your feelings concerning the OP? The OP has a valid point, regardless of whether one likes or dislikes catholic teaching. I think we should reserve our passionate emotions for the poor children who have been abused, instead of turning this into a "you-hate-catholics" thread.

Truth must be exposed and dealt with whether we like it or not. If we were discussing Baptist preachers abusing children, my response would still be the same, even if someone used the situation to attack all Baptists in general.

So you're saying that there have been cover-ups? Why, you hateful bigot, you!

Right. He engaged in covering it up as a Cardinal, but now that he's the pope, all of a sudden, he grew a conscience?

So why has the Catholic Church tried to hard to keep that from happening?

Don't get me wrong, I love it when the Catholic church excommunicates someone because that gives us the opportunity to come along and share the Gospel with them and explain the difference between the Biblical Gospel and the false Catholic Gospel.

I just think it's wrong for the Catholic Church to use it as a threat to keep their followers in line.

The difference being I am justified by faith through Christ. Catholics add works to grace. All who hold to the catholic position needs to repent. But of course you already know that.

Now this I am interested it. I'm not aware that he was involved in a cover-up as a cardinal. In all seriousness, do you have evidence that he did this?

a cult is a cult and that what the rcc is, like it or not.
Your off topic, please stick with the op topic, or start a new thread.
Apparently so far you don't think we should punish pedophiles, if they are catholics.

Personally I have never bashed a Catholic or called them any names, but to say that we don't have a clue what the RCC teaches is wrong. Any teachings that I have commented on or posted I got straight from the Catholic websites. I have only posted what Catholics themselves claim to teach. And all of it is unbiblical.
