    You might want to re-read.

We are told that we will have to give an account.

Has nothing to do with being saved.

That being said, sometimes I think that God uses even a loss to make a point.

Such as when Bob Dole lost to Bill Clinton by 43% to 41% (or whatever the final count was.) Dole was much better than Clinton, but still pretty lousy. Clinton did not have an imperative from the people for anything.

Same with a pro-life candidate who is lousy.

BTW, if the choice is between a pro-abortion candidate who thinks all abortions should be legal and a pro-abortion candidate that wants to limit it to the first two trimesters, which one are you going to vote for?

As a Christian I have only One issue when voting, that is how does the candidate measure up in light of God's Word. Some issues might be debateable, but when an issue goes directly against Jesus Christ, like the murder of innocent unborn children, I must reject the candidate no matter what else they stand for. If I do not then I consent just as Paul consented as he watched them stone Stephen and I am guilty also.

Surely as a Christian you know you must give an account of the deeds you have done while in the body and can also experience chastisement for your present sins even if you belong to Christ (need I post the scriptures?).

Voting for a pro-murder candidate is a sin that causes innocent lives to continue on being slaughtered. The blood is on every hand that cast their votes for these murderers. Pilate tried to wash his hands of innocent blood but failed, because he could have done something and didn't, he had greater selfish motives to cuddle. He had to tow the party line.

That would be using the blood of Jesus as a license to sin ( need scripture?) and then at your judgment telling Christ "so what if I murdered babies, I'm covered by your blood".

    Way off topic!

    God Bless!

Start a new thread on it, this one is about murdering babies. How do you feel about murdering babies? Are you not willing to praise God that abortion has taken a blow? Are you not willing to recognize that it is God who raises men up into power to do His will? Bush is president because of our Lord and for His purposes, just as Clinton was. So it appears that one of His purposes was to end partial birth murders. It also appears that another purpose was to remove a murderer in the middle east, the butcher of Bagdad(sp).

We need to analyze current events through the light of God's Word knowing that it is God who is in control of these governments. If God did not want Sadam removed from power just yet then Sadam would still be there! Rail all you want against this action but remember that God must have wanted Sadam removed by the USA else he would still be there. Whether it was personally right or wrong for Bush to lead the charge is for God to decide and for God to judge, but God wanted it done or it would not have been done and it is a known fact now that Bush is the man that God raised up to do it regardless of whether Bush was moral and just to do so. I believe he was, but the point is that many Christians are leaving the sovernity of God out of the equasion as if this all could have been avoided somehow.

So you might ask, then If God's will be done then what does my vote matter? It matters because you have the God given right to take God's side on matters or struggle against Him. Paul kicked against the pricks, but God's will was going to get done in spite of Paul, but Paul chose to repent and join God's will.

We are in God's theator and we can choose who's side we help along, good or evil, voting for pro-murder candidates is "kicking against the pricks". God will win and pro-life will win. Who's side will you be judged as being on at the finish line?

As far as removing Sadam goes, it should be viewed as God's will was done and like it or not we should not second guess whether ot not it should have been done. Christians should know better and should know the scriptures concerning these matters.

    God Bless!

==Considering the fact that millions of unborn babies are still legally slaughtered in this country I see no reason to celebrate. Bush has had seven years, with mostly republican houses, to get abortion banned and he has not. Why not? Because it would not be politically popular.

I see no reason to celebrate.

==But its still legal to tear a baby apart inside the womb. Again I see no reason to celebrate.

==God raised up Bush? Give me a break! Bush has done much harm to our country. He has lowered taxes (income) but increased spending, he is giving away millions of our dollars every year to other countries (many of whom are not our friends), he has given the federal government more power, he has started a unnecessary and unjust war in Iraq where over 3,000 American soldiers have died, and he has made our military look bad by getting it bogged down in Iraq. Also, Bush has not taken the lead in the battle against abortion. Generally he has avoided that issue as much as he can.

Yes, God raises up kings and tears kings down. So in a sense God did appoint Bush for this time in American history. However that does not mean that Bush will be a good president. It only means that he is what we deserve.

Bush handled 9/11 very well but, beyond that, his presidency has been a disaster.

Btw, I voted for him twice. :tear:

==While I can't say whether or not Bush is a true born-again Christian it is clear to me that he is, at best, theologically confused. He believes that Christians, Jews, and Muslims worship the same God. He believes that all good people, even non-christians, enter heaven. In other words George W Bush denies the exlcusivity of the Gospel that was preached by Jesus and His apostles (Jn 14:6, Acts 4:12). So on the most important issue, the Gospel, he is confused at best or a heretic at the worst. How can a person be on Jesus' side if they can't even get the Gospel right? Hello Joel Osteen???

==While it is nice that this form abortion is now illegal I can't celebrate while millions of other babies are still legally murdered in this country. I can't be greatful for Bush as long as he continues to send out troops to fight another country's battles in Iraq.

==As will you, and I, for supporting Bush who has done nothing to ban all abortion. There are no half measures when it comes to the importance of life. Partial victory is no victory at all.

    Martin,
I couldn't agree more. Every time the thought crosses my mind that I voted for this pseudo-conservative moralist twice, it makes me ill to put it nicely. Bush has not upheld one conservative principle in seven years, six with a republican congress.

God should be praised for the Supreme Court ruling, as abortion is the stench of our country, and any step in the other direction is wonderful.

From abortion to the budget deficit, to social security, to medicare, to immigration, to Katrina, to inept aids, to no leadership, to listening to Cheney, to lying to the American people, to not knowing how to execute a war, and on and on and on, he has done our nation great harm. As God is my witness, I will never vote for such a character again if I have the slightest unease about the person. (and no, that does not mean vote for a democrat).

According to the Scripture, God did place Bush in power for His purposes. What that purpose is way beyond my understanding, but he is in control. Maybe its punishment for electing Clinton.

With the last two POTUS's in office, no one has any room to talk about Richard Nixon.

Nixon was one of our better presidents. Everything he did is legal and honorable, even commanded under the Bush takeover.

Why not celebrate the ones that have been saved from murder?

Bush has had seven years, but how many years did it take them to get things to this point? It will take even longer to get it back.

Just like any war, it's one battle at a time, and you win some and lose others, and then have to regroup.

He has not lowered taxes per se, but has decreased the rate. This rate reduction has led to a great increase in revenue. Even JFK understood this, but modern democrats use this form of class warfare (I'll really sock it to those rich guys!) to buy votes from people who don't understand economics any more than they understand 65 million to 1 odds in the lottery.

Oh, really? Show me where Bush has specifically given away any money to other countries. (I think he may have given some when the tsunami hit, but I cannot remember if that was an executive privilege or still had to be authorized by congress.)

    It's necessary and just.

That's my opinion, and it's just as valid as yours.

And in a war of this magnitude and length, it should be "only 3,000" soldiers who have died. Each and ever death is lamentable, but is a byproduct of war, and as such, this is the lowest rate in the history of the world.

But, I do agree that he got them bogged down by not insisting that we send enough troops to do the job right.

Can you show where they do not worship the same God?

In all three cases, it's the God of Abraham.

Do you have a quote on that? I've heard several people make this claim, but none of them has been able to produce a quote. It would not surprise me that he said it, but until is see/hear it from his own mouth, I don't believe it.

He's a heap sight better then any dumbacrat that could be in there.

If men want to marry men, let them
If woman want to marry women, let them
If they want to keep killing babies, let them
In just three generations there will be no more democrats!

Well, you had to go and ruin a great post with this nonsense.

1John 1:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

You cannot deny Christ, and say you worship his father. It won't wash.

I tried, now can you show where they do worship the same God ?

    Two things:

I did not say they had it right.

Can you show where they don't worship the God of Abraham?

I can show all sorts of things that they have wrong, but I cannot say they don't worship the same God. Especially since Jesus is found in the Koran, and those who seek more look. Messianic Islam is a growing trend. (And they are usually executed when discovered.)

Edited to add: In re to John 10:30: One - Neuter, not masculine (heis). Not one person, but one essence or nature. Another example of "heis" is in Galatians 3:28, which says, There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

==Because, as I said, Bush has not put forth his full effort in the fight against abortion. Like with most other things his "efforts" have been half hearted and seem more aimed at political appeasement. I will not celebrate his half-hearted efforts.

==No excuse. He is the president and he had both houses. Instead of getting important things done he has been side-tracked with the unjust war in Iraq.

==That would be fine if Bush had put forth real, difficult, effort. But since has not done that I give Bush an F on this issue, and most other issues. Half hearted effort never wins support from me.

==Either way he is spending more than the government is taking in thus we are going further and further into debt.

==This administration, like others, gives money to countries like Israel, Jordon, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, etc, etc.. If you are not aware of this then you have not been paying attention.

==Since Saddam, even with WMD, could have been dealt with via targeted air strikes it is hardly necessary. It is also not our place to perform "regime change" in any country (unless extreme circumstances present themselves). As for "just" please tell me how it is just. I am looking at this by the standards of just war doctrine. This war is unjust by those standards.

==3000 is 3000 too many for a war that did not have to be fought and should not have been fault. If this were WWII you would be right, if China attacked the United States you would be right, but this is a war that did not have to be fought and should not have been fault. In that light 3000 dead Americans is 3000 too many. If those people in Iraq wanted democracy, if they wanted to get rid of Saddam, then they should have done it. It is not our job to be the world's police.

==Neither Jews/Muslims give honor to the true and living God (Jn 5:22-23). You can't offer true worship to God while rejecting His Son.

==I imagine you can go on youtube and find video of him saying this since he has made several comments along these lines.

Since I don't base my vote solely on a candidate's position on the abortion issue, I cannot answer your question.

    I feel I have.

Jesus is nothing more than a prophet in their book, ipso facto, he cannot be MY Jesus.

One in Jesus Christ, not one in Moses, or Allah. Christians are the only people who worship the true Father God, everyeoene else worships in vain. That's what I get outta scripture.

We are not going to agree, and I think you are an honest enough poster, that we don't have to beat this horse anymore. I disagree extremely strongly, and we must leave it at that.

Incorrect. The God of Abraham is Jesus Christ. Jews and Muslims do not worship the God that is Jesus Christ. Therefore, they do not worship the God of Abraham. Jesus was clear about that in John 8.

My, my, my. Isn't it interesting how quickly Christians rush to hypocritical ooops I mean hypothetical arguments rather than address an OP?

Amen ....... and while we are at it, lets look at some facts. Remember that Ruth Bader Ginsburg, former ACLU official, was then and is now pro-abortion even in the third trimester, pro-free sex, pro-homosexual marriages and civil unions, pro gun control, pro-eminent domain private developers over home owners, anti-prayer in schools or at public ceremonies or on "government" property, just the type Justice that Bill Clinton appointed, and a majority of Democrats celebrate. Don't believe it? Need a source? Check out the votes at the Supreme Court and the platform of the Democratic party. Just google it. If you can still vote for a President, Senator, or Representative who supports one or any or all of the above, run, don't walk, to 1 John 1:9 and vow not to repeat that blunder ever again.
    :praying:
