President to end DACA

I'm not okay with DACA. I'd like the policy to end so we don't have to deal with this in the future. I'd like the anchor baby policy to end also.

Well, Trump wants DACA to stay.

But I don't mind compassion for those insnared by these bad policies, so long as a good deal is made. Why are you so against negotiation?

I'm not against negotiating. But what's the end game? If the end game is to get the Wall built, get comprehensive immigration reform including the actual ability and actually deporting people and the bargaining chip is DACA legalized, sure I'm for that. But if you're just going to legalize DACA and leave everything else status quo, forget it.

I would agree with you which was the genius of sending this to the Republican controlled congress. There will be pressure within to make a good deal. Let's see how the debate goes. You and I might both be disgusted, or tickled pink. We'll see. I'm optimistic.

Except Trump humiliating GOP leadership yesterday and his constant insults via Twitter is not putting pressure on the Republican controlled Congress, it's alienating them. Why should they help Trump with his attempt to legalize DACA?

Well, I was thrilled with the announcement on Tuesday morning that he was winding down DACA, that renewals would not be granted, etc. But then eight hours later he totally undercut that with his tweet that he wanted to retain DACA, in fact, wanted to legalize DACA.

I love the fact that the GOP leadership is getting humiliated. And I'm a constituent and don't feel insulted at all. Seems the only one's hurt are Trump's enemies.

and look at this:

POLL: REVOLT BREWING ACROSS AMERICA AGAINST FAILED CONGRESSIONAL GOP LEADERSHIP
by MICHAEL PATRICK LEAHY

It appears the GOP voters are siding with Trump.

Poll was published in Breitbart. How cute.

And look at the bias built into the questions used in that poll! It's laughable!
Seriously, you are citing this as evidence? LOL!

Here's the headline in Breitbart from yesterday. Trump did this to himself.

You're still hoping against hope against the Donald. I'm optimistic as can be. :Thumbsup

BTW, mods, we need an emoji with a Trump hat.

Let's see...he says he's ending DACA then asks Congress to legalize it.
He cuts a deal with Pelosi and Schumer and gets no concessions whatsoever.

Winning!

And you say you supported Rubio? Very hard to believe. Confused

Why? Because Rubio attempted to introduce a limited Dream Act legislation in 2012? That's not the entirety of Rubio's political career. The guy is a senator from a state with a large Latino population.

You support Trump. We all know he has held positions that virtually no Republican would support. Funny how I'm questioned on my support of Rubio over one issue, whereas there are several positions that Trump has espoused or still does support that you look the other way, citing...But...but...Gorsuch.
