It is interesting in today's environment of Government power grabs, using "emergency powers" to note that most of our constitutional amendments were for the purpose of protecting citizens from government overreach.
1st - freedom of speech, religion and the press.
2d - right to bear arms
3d - limits governments right to use our property to house soldiers
4th - protection from unreasonable search
5th - limits governments treatment of supposed and convicted criminals
6th - more protection of the accused
7th - right to trial by jury
8th - protection from cruel and unusual punishment
9th - unenumerated rights
10th -
powers not given to Federal government belong to the states
11th - limits judicial power
13th - freedom from slavery and involuntary servitude.
Ditto for the 14, 15, 19, 21, 24, and 26 amendments.
So why do voters continue to elect the dictatorial elitists who usurp power and deprive children of human rights?
