Hi, Psalm 105:18 reads "his neck was put in a collar of irn" in the NRSV, and similar in the NIV. The King James has "he was laid in iron", but both the Hebrew and LXX seem to me to say "his soul was in (or placed in) irons" This is also the translation Radak, but the neck reading has some support in Genesis Rabbah 87:11. Psalm 69:1 has the same translation of nefesh. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks! I was really just wondering where the word "neck" came from in those translations that use it.
God bless, Colin
