Public School--the least accountable, least transparent government entity

    Of course, we find out that folks running the schools are lying to us. Go figure...that's what liars do, eh?

    For the amount we're spending, we could cut everyone a check, they could send themselves to private schools (NICE ones), and we'd still come out ahead!

    I'm all for doing away with the education dept! Parents are the best persons available to choose what type of education fits their child best.

    First we need to ditch the teacher's unions and next tenure. Finally, get rid of the high paid superintendents and get a board in there that has NO financial gain from their position. Superintendents making $300,000 a year while arts and music are cut is ridiculous.

    The main reason the NEA has such power is that the parents are more concerned about the the "free" babysitting that public education provides than about their children's education. The teachers threaten to strike and the parents panic over losing their government child care.
