The Kurds are making peace with Assad, and Turkey looks like it wants to make peace with Assad, as well.
This will result in some degree of peace between the Kurds and Turkey, but the Kurds will always be tempted to plant bombs, it's their nature, and Turkey will want to reply, but they'll have to do it through a buffer zone.
The US aiding the Kurds (not as allies, because allies have a two-way relationship) only facilitated violence by discouraging the Kurds from being peaceful. The US presence was also preventing Syria and Turkey from negotiating a peace.
In the end, Assad will consolidate his power. And, everyone killed, maimed, or driven out of Syria will have been for nothing, if the US actually had a reason (to remove Assad) to be there in the first place.
Sort of like the Iraq war didn't destroy WMDS, but the dogs of war have no regrets because "disarming" Saddam was never their real motivation (nor was compassion for Iraqis).
Obama was a very pro-war president.
Hillary Clinton was also very pro-war.
Trump is anti-war. This is why many neocon Republicans were #NeverTrump.
They wanted Hillary to win, even if would let Hillary replace two conservative judges on the Supreme Court with liberals (giving the anti-Constitution wing absolute power, traitors).
Amen, but Assad has a terrible problem. He loves to gas his people and rule them in his dictatorship. Trump probably loves him for being worse than himself. It's literally a bloody shame.
Running away from responsibility is what caused the current war. Trump is so greedy, he would rather send 2,000 troops to Saudi Arabia because they will pay and the Kurds have only their lives to pay. Pulling out and leaving people who have lost 11k lives to the mercy of the evil Turkish President is the dumbest and most ignorant blunder in History. It's what happens when the American people elect a mob boss. Good luck on getting rid of the Donald. He would rather blow us all up than to be rejected.
It is when terrorists from Syria (ISIS) set up a terrorist section of his country and attack Iraq after we have attacked them earlier. How many Americans should be killed before it becomes a U.S. problem? Do you really think that the U.N. has an Army? Get real.
If the Kurds weren't terrorists, Turkey -- our real ally -- would be leaving them alone.
If you were president for life of the US, what would you long-term expectations be for Syria and the Kurds?
Never ever leave?
Because when you do leave, the Kurds and the Turks would be at it again, because Kurds, like ISIS, has no respect for legitimate governments and nations.
The Kurds have to be broken.
What makes it any of our business?
What will you say in six months from now when there's more peace (fewer causality) in Syria than there was six months ago?
That somehow you are right that US troops shouldn't have left?
