This is just as wrong as the sermon of today stating not to worry, this is all part of normal day to day life :)

The point is that these things have always happened. They always will. Because the return of Christ has always been and will always be imminent. We are not in some kind of special time. 200 years from now they may look back on us and say -'They only thought it was close, but NOW it really is time!'

From day one believers have looked for His return - and that is as it should be.

    Agreed.

    Not so sure about that.

    Agreed.

Back to the OP, the prophecy by Christ was that earthquakes would be occurring in different places, i.e. places not usually known for having earthquakes.

The recent earthquakes in Colorado and Virginia fit the bill on both counts. If you say, "Well, how do we know there weren't earthquakes in Colorado and Virginia many times in the past, after all, recorded history basically started in the U.S. about 400 years ago." It really doesn't matter because as far as our frame of reference is concerned Colorado and Virginia are different places for earthquakes to occur. If you were alive in the 1500's and came to know of earthquakes occuring in the New World, that would qualify as "different place" for you. For people living in Christ's era on earth, Colorado and Virginia would have been a "different place". For seismologists studying earthquake patterns, Colorado and Virginia are unusual places for earthquakes to occur.

I say the prophecy is being fulfilled.

Agreed - and it has been since John wrote 'Even so, come Lord Jesus.'

I believe that it will be as we've never seen before. Yes, we hear reports of these things but I think it will be so widespread that it will be jaw-dropping. Forget an earthquake here and there - and small ones at that. We're talking the WHOLE earth will shake....

Perhaps this was in consideration that through said technology we would be more aware, yet nonetheless it is happening.
