Questions KJVOs Can't Answer.

The KJV is the Word of God. Any modern versions contain the Word of God.
Isn't there a place in the KJV that warns about calling your brothers fools? If so, are you saying that they are not your brothers in Christ because they use an MV?

Using the fair copyright law of the United States Patent and Trademark office and US Code, I make quotes from the page pointed to by Askjo.

The quotes are not my writing. The opinions are.

The first and main argument is:
2. The Translators Of The N.K.J.B. Paid Respect To
The Critical Text.
Note that here again, just like I said, they can't handle the footnotes. What difference does it make?

b. I Thess. 5:22.

"Abstain from all appearance of evil" (A.V.)

"Abstain from every form of evil" (N.K.J.B.)
According to them changes meaning. Funny, all comparisons are done to the AV and not the TR, isn't it. Boy that is a change of doctrine if I've ever seen one.

c. James 5:16.

"Confess your faults one to another" (A.V.)

"Confess your trespasses to one another" (N.K.J.B.)
Ooooohhhhh, this is so close to the CATHOLIC RSV. Wow, big change in doctrine.

7. The N.K.J.B. Shows Some Doctrinal Weaknesses.

Included in the various translating committees of the N.K.J.B. were several Arminian theologians, or at least scholars coming from Arminian denominations such as Nazarene, Methodist, Free Will Baptist, and Assembly of God.

Several verses seem to have an Arminian flavor. For example:

a. Heb. 10:14.

"For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified." (A.V.)
"For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified." (N.K.J.B.)

The term, "being sanctified" would be favorable to the Holiness movement, whereas in fact the believer IS sanctified.
Oh well, wonder what the TR says. I get so tired of comparisons to the AV itself. Most of these guys can't even understand the English used in the 1769 version.

I still predict that one generation is all it will take for the NKJV to become the replacement KJV. It may have some corrections made first.

I bet in 1769 everybody screamed like the KJVo's here.

Still interesting that my quetions aren't answered, isn't it. . .We're always sent to the same ol' same ol' KJVo rhetoric websites. Why can't they answer questions themselves? Why do the questions remain unanswered?

Answer my questions then. One at a time and don't send me to some KJVo rhetoric website. Even your name indicates the "spirit" in which you come to this site. You are "anti" which is a negative term. That generally shows the KJVo position. It is my opinion based on the posts on this site that they are more worried about convincing the world they are right about the KJVo than going about the Lord's business.

I wouldn't doubt they spend time preaching against MV's in church. Am I right?

So, anti-alex, what is your opinion of the NKJV since it is TR?

Here is some more slandering of the Word of God by a site that Askjo sent us too. What is the difference between saying a Bible is a fraud and putting a link to a site that says it. I thought we had rules against speaking against the Word of God?

Again using fair copyright laws of US I make short quotes:
coun ter feit \'kaunt-er-fit\: to imitate or copy closely
especially with intent to deceive.
The "especially with intent to deceive." is italicized. It is interesting the writer blatantly says the translator's deceived with "intent".
The greatest method of deception is to counterfeit.
And the master of counterfeit and deception is Satan.
============================
And among his greatest counterfeit's is the New King James Bible (NKJV). Christians that would never touch a New International Version (NIV), New American Standard (NASV), Revised Standard (RSV), the New Revised Standard (NRSV) or other per-versions are being "seduced" by the subtil NKJV.
The site has a picture of a black leather covered Bible marked New King James Version with the red letters marked "Counterfeit" slashed across it; right at the top of the page.

I'll let you come to your own conclusion on what Askjo has asked us to read.

Those people sure spent a lot of time looking at the couterfeit.

I would rather look at the genuine article.

"You know how to tell a crooked stick? Hold a straight one next to it."

On the same website I read, "Afraid that the King James people would get the upper hand and win the debate, Ankerberg attempted to "stack the deck." He invited five new version scholars but only three King James advocates. Since Ankerberg is himself a fervent promoter of the NIV and other false versions, that made the odds six to three."

The truth only needs one advocate. The writer of that statement thinks like the world's lawyers and those who are in trouble with the law. The writer thinks that more makes better and that one person holding the truth could not go against other who don't hold the truth. I would be willing to bet that Dr. Dan Wallace could have taken on ten KJVO's easily.

Another quote, same page:
The New King James is a COUNTERFEIT!

It's NOT NEW! The changes are already in the NIV, NASV, NRSV, or RSV!

And it's certainly NOT true to the 1611 King James Bible!
He says the symbol for trinity on the front of the Bible is really 666 put together. He shows it marked with each six. Sad, remember when conspiracy people got all over proctor and gamble for having a man in the moon symbol they had used for over 100 years on their products and they had to take it off because people said it was a mark of Satan?

I think its sad someone would take the Word of God and say such things, I think it even sadder that Askjo is buying into this and providing links to this trash.

Amen, preach on gb!

I think they sound like conspiracy theory advocates. Making a 666 out of the trade-mrk symbol on the front of the Bible. Give me a break. Even Askjo should see through this stuff. If he can't see the way the guy is creating his own lies then I feel sorry for him. That link is sooooo sad, that it does more to hurt their anti-NKJV theory than help it. Like Ripplinger helps the KJVo crowd.

Askjo, I challenge you to read the entire page with an open mind and see if you can't see "conspiracy" written all over it.

And I’ll bet they are so edified and built up in Jesus.

About 15 miles from where I live is one of those churches that has been about 30 people for about 30 years. At first they were in a small shack of a shed about the size of 20 x 30. Now they have a nice building. All because some people have bought their propaganda over the years. They have made zero impact upon the community in winning people to Christ. In fact they are the laughing stock among non-believers. I have friends who have gone there because of the name and found out the preacher spends more time bashing other versions of the Bible rather than edifying the body by preaching out of his study of scripture. The fact is that they are not doing evangelism.

As long as there will be people who will listen, there will be those who will be glad to take their money to line their own pockets and build new buildings.

You have been asked several times to post that proof. If it is so "obvious" certainly you can post it. Why haven't you? Maybe because you can't?

I guess many like to overlook the quite obvious, and simple: Why does one even need to put a "symbol" on the Bible? Symbols mean something, and ecspecially in this day and age. It might do you and others well, to heed what our Lord Jesus Christ said: be as wise as serpents, but as harmless as doves. IT might do you all well dear bretheren, to pay attention to the very times we are living in, and watch and be sober. Discern the times we are living in. Allow the Lord to show you these things in the scriptures, and your eyes might be open to what is really going on. I will continue to pray for you all.

Why does someone need to decorate the Bible? Hey, Michelle - do some historical digging up here. I think that you are making a mountain out of a molehill, especially concerning the historical truths of Bible decorations.

Scott,

There is a vast difference between a "symbol" and a decoration. There can be no symbol for the trinity of God! That is forbidden, and no symbol or picture can give an accurate representation of the trinity of God. It is pagan, and this particular symbol that is on the cover has pagan origions. Call it whatever you desire, but I will keep myself from idols, thank you very much.

Michelle, do you mean the times when people will not be like the Bereans as being more noble minded than those in Thessalonica in searching the scriptures daily to see if those things were so? Why be disobedient in spending my time searching the occult when scripture clearly says not to. I wouldn't even know about those things unless I investiagted the occult against the word of God.

Some take a straw and try to make it a house.

Seems as though that website as spent a lot of time digging through things they shouldn't be reading. Those symbols they speak of mean nothing to me. I equate them with nothing else. I am not even aware of what they speak of because I do not spend my time dabbling in the occult.

According to what they write does that mean Mercedes Benz should change the emblem on the hood of their car because so many are stolen all in the name of peace.

To have a counerfeit you must first have the real thing. Satan has been couterfeiting Christians all along. Why should we yield to their nonsense?

To say one must never use symbols means don't use money. Don't have a steeple on the church building. Types and antetypes shouldn't exist either. Don't ever draw the fish symbol because it looks much like the Darwin one too. The preacher should not wear a suit and tie because it looks wordly too.

There are things that have been brought to our attention on the BB concerning some details of dress which have caused me to come to the conclusion that there are those who are so worldly as to be so concerned with things that I don't see how anyone who thinks on pure things could possibly ever see.

Idols are something people worship not just a symbol. Symbols only have meaning as something is associated with them.

Do you say the pledge of allegiance to the flag? Does you church have a steeple? Does it have a cross? Does it have a picture of Jesus anywhere? Does it have any photographs hanging on any walls. Do you own any photos of your family. Some would contend it is idolatry. Not too far from where you live, are those who would contend photos are a form of idolatry.

Do you support Muslims by putting gas in your car? What an awful symbol of support for anti-Christianity. It is contributing to paganism. They even persecute and execute Christians. Have you bought anything from China including clothes?

dear michelle,

The commandment forbids any image above or below the earth.

Anyway King James didn't take your advice for his First Edition AV. Apparently his symbol for the deity was the sun with a sunburst around it and a shinning dove presumably a sysmbol of the Holy Ghost (But thats OK, cuz its a KJV).

http://www.biblepage.com/biblepage/catalog/english-bible/kjv1611.html

Other KJVs embellished with Pagan sysmbols:

http://www.biblepage.com/biblepage/catalog/english-bible/kjv1625.html

http://www.biblepage.com/biblepage/catalog/english-bible/kjv1629.html

http://www.biblepage.com/biblepage/catalog/english-bible/kjv1638.html

ED! Another double-speak: Deity symbols are OK for the KJV but Pagan for MVs.

Well gb, all I can say to you, is be very careful. WE are to know the wiles of the devil, for if we do not know how the enemy works, thinks, acts, believes, he may just deceive us into doing, thinking, we are doing the will of the Lord, when in fact we are disobeying the Lord. One isn't deceived by the lies, they are deceived by those things that have left out some of the truth, or those little lies mixed in with the truth. Remember, the serpent was more subtle than all the beasts of the field. We are to be as wise as serpents, but as harmless as doves. Satan can come as an angel of light, and so likewsise his ministers. To dabble in the occult, or to do those very occultic things is not what is recommended, but knowing of them. This is clearly what is meant by being as wise as serpents, but as harmless as doves. We can only know these things are occultic, by knowing the word of God and what he has said and warned of them, and being on guard against them. Otherwise we can be taken in by them.

Again, you are condemning the wrong people here, and condoning that which is strictly forbidden by God. Then you accuse the side that is warning others of these things, by saying they shouldn't be researching these matters. Really gb, where is your fear of God?

Hank,

My KJB doesn't have any symbols of the trinity of God, and if it did, I would be quick to find one that didn't. Your excuses for them, will not stand at the judgement seat of Christ. This is all I have to say on the matter. Again, all I hear from all of you is EXCUSES for those things the Lord tells us to separate from. IT is between you and the Lord Jesus Christ now, for you all have been warned.
