1. Give your life to Christ
2. Center on Him
3. then pay attention to others (if you are watching out for yourself, then you are the only one watching out for you; if you are watching out for others, then God is watching out for you -- which do you prefer???)
4. Pray to get your own personality out of the way so Christ is living through you.
Your witness is your life; everything you do, say, and are. Your attitude says more than your words and your life says more than your 'philosophy'.
And then, when Christ is truly living through you, make sure you really know your Bible, so you can answer questions from people about why you are so different!
Only it won't be the kind of 'different' a self-centered person is. People know about that already. It will be the kind of different that attracts them due to your gentleness, concern, and helping heart.
You will always be a real person. But you will never be the person God created you to be until He has remade you and is living through you. -
What she said.
In addition, remember two things: 1) Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
For most younger teens, I translate this as: You're the only Bible some people have ever seen.
2) Remember what Peter told us: 1 Peter 4:11 ...if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ....
