Do they happen around here often? I tell you Baptist Believer has made a great effort to have a real debate regarding WOTM with me and has taken the labor to actually READ Comforts primary books on evangelism and his philosophy "The Way of the Master" and "Hells Best Kept Secret." He did not take the easy way out by watching a YouTube video or listening to a sermon. No he wants the meat of the philosophy which is only in the books. If Comfort thought a YouTube video or a sermon was all that you needed to understand his philosophy he would not have written these books. Reading a book takes far more effort and work but its worth it.
Lord willing in his reading he will discover that the false claims being propagated on this board are untrue. Such claims like WOTM is against discipleship, Comfort designed the method of using the 10 commandments in evangelism, and the message outline promoted by Comfort is different than the main one in scripture "Repentance" is yet another fallacy.
Over the years I have met some people that would have their false views of WOTM corrected if they only would read the books.
Evan, I haven't read those books. But I don't have to. I know what you've said, and it's unscriptural. I don't have to read a book to know that your description of WOTM shows it to be wrong.
And honestly, your contention that you have to have read the books to discuss it is sophomoric at best, and idiotic at worst. To use the example you never answered in another thread: I have read both the Lesser Keys of Solomon and the Greater Keys of Solomon, cover to cover. I'm willing to bet money you haven't.
So, using your own logic, you have no grounds to tell me that attempting to summon spirits is bad. After all, you haven't read the books.
So, I bring up a valid point you can't refute, and instead of debating in your thread asking for real debating, you resort to that. Look out, your maturity is showing.
If you want to debate Sapper then we need a foundation. Buy the book The Way of the Master or even for FREE order his book God has a wonderful plan for your life and you only pay shipping as it's free.
You probably make more than me and can afford it and let's debate.
I don't want to debate a book. I want to discuss YOUR viewpoints, not Comfort's. If you have to refer me to a book, rather than explaining your position, then you have no position; you are just parroting someone else thoughtlessly.
I haven't seen any debating from you, only assertions that he needs to keep reading
I tried to debate you concerning "The Gospel According to Jesus"....
but we couldn't even get off the fround because I was trying to start on page 1
but you wanted to direct me to a single statement on about page 40, another single statement on about page 116, yada yada which supposedly "proved" the empty assertions of the initial premise
That's what you seem to be trying with Baptist Believer, and he's not going for it.
You can't start with a philosophy, then prove all the building blocks false, and maintain that the philosophy is accurate. He's trying to get you to address the building blocks and acknowledge that they don't build to what Comfort's philosophy teaches
