When a page falls out of my wife's bible, she gets a toothpick or a straight pin and a little elmers glue. she is able to put the page back in using the pin where other tools cannot be used.
But my brand new $150 Bible (the one advertised by Jerry Goff) had a page come out of it this past week. I am going to call them and let them take care of it. One should not see pages come out so evenly and easily from a new Bible. -
So I don't have any truly "old" Bibles. I have a few new KJV and NKJV Bibles now, a Greek Interlinear, a Septuagint, and some other assorted types and translations. I like one note-free NKJV that has big print for my aging eyes, so I will probably make that my standard Bible unless I find a different translation I like better. -
Thanks, you all...
With this one, the cover is all beat up, and torn in a couple places... I need a new cover...
None of the pages are torn out or ripped.
But a few are bent.
It is a KJV from Thomas Nelson pub. copyrighted 1972, and it was well produced...
I wish I could get an equivalent, but have yet to find one
I haven't used it for a while, but I may start again, if I can get a new cover on it, and the pages straitened..
I love this Bible.
Thanks SFIC, I will try that idea on a couple other Bibles I have...
npetreley.. I am sensing you have some committment problems!! lol

If you're interested in a new Bible, try Pilkington and Sons. They have an interleaved Bible for a reasonable price. Well, actually they have two or three. The only problem I have with mine is that it includes the Romans' Road and the Sinner's Prayer, but other than that, it's excellent. It was less than $100, if I remember correctly, including shipping.

OK, I had to look it up, and they've raised their prices. Their interleaved Bibles are now right at $100. But, they're great!
Also, Micron makes some .05 (yes, smaller than .1) pens that use archival quality ink that won't fade or smear, so you can write your notes on the thin paper without them bleeding through. If your local office supply place doesn't carry them, try your art supply store. Michael's carries them, as well as Jo-Ann. -
Tim, I have a place I use out of Greensboro for all our bindery needs and boy do we have bindery needs. I'll get that to you Sunday if that's not too long a wait for you.

Thanks you all...
And Bitsy, I have waited for a few yrs.. I can wait until Sunday..
Besides, I will have to save some $$$ to get it done anyway. -

Hey, everyone, could you give me an idea of how much it costs?? I have a Nelson KJV Study Bible from the early '90's that I love, it's full of all my notes and highlighted verses etc., but I only paid about $40 for it new. That's probably why the cover is falling apart  it's the "bonded leather" version, but I would love it covered in real leather if not too costly.
-
Good question, how much money are we looking at? I realize no one can give the exact amount, but a ball park figure would help...

$10 w/ S&H approx.

Tim, I have had my Bible since early 1976. It needs rebinding about every 10 years and is ready for it again.
I always went through my Christian bookstore before, but it closed down, so I am 'googling' for a good place.
I paid $50.00 in '86 and $75.00 in '96, for real leather.
I know that a new Bible would cost less than rebinding my old one, but I love it, and I don't want to lose all my notes and autographs.
Try this link. It lists the prices for different Bible sizes.

I pay about $6 something per book and they come and pick them up. I do usually get several hundred done at a time, but that's the reason they come pick them up. It doesn't effect the price per book if I have 25 or 500.
