and a heavenly kingdom is one of fruitful individual labor, not one of dependence. why should those who labor and enjoy the fruits of their labor have to bear the burden of providing healthcare to those who are unemployed, whether by choice or by circumstance.
Peter (or was that Somebody else called the Holy Spirit) said that those who do not work should not eat, which is a lot harsher, and more fundamental, than simply paying for the healthcare of others.
now, what are you gonna do about that ?
Two posts since I provided the facts that you asked for; I can only hope that you're doing the research. Otherwise, we can only assume that you're avoiding the facts.
About 98 percent of state residents are insured under the legislation Romney signed in 2006, a 10 percent rise from the previous three-year average. Government costs haven’t ballooned, officials say, and 63 percent of residents support the law.
A heavenly kingdom is filled with those who: 1) Love God, 2) Love their neighbor, and even 3) Love their enemies.
The second and third requirements are in short supply among the Republican Right and certainly on this forum.
Unlike you, who would never question the motives, inspiration or attitude of your brothers and sisters in Christ, who happen to disagree with you, right?
Here's some more recent facts for you: http://m.us.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424127887323968304578249694095831444?mobile=y
Health care was 23% of the state fisc in 2000, and 25% in 2006, but it has climbed to 41% for 2013. On current trend it will roll past 50% around 2020—and that best case scenario assumes Mr. Patrick's price controls work as planned. (They won't.) In real terms the state's annual health-care budget is 15% larger than it was in 2007, while transportation has plunged by 22%, public safety by 17% and education by 7%. Today Massachusetts spends less on roads, police and schools after adjusting for inflation than it did in 2007.
I question your motives but I have never questioned your faith.
One poster here said that a Christian who belongs to the Democratic party is an oxymoron.
That goes beyond just questioning politics.
I call that hate.
