Remember Old Anderson ?

We had a poster here who signed his posts SAnderson, from Tempe Arizona, with a link to his website the Faithful Word Baptist church.
I might have missed it but I have not found anything on him here on Baptist Board about his remarks against the man at the oval office. Rick Sanchez of CNN did a report on him.

Seems like he said on camera that he wants Obama to die and prays that he will melt like a snail and go to hell or something like that. Also sometime ago he got tasered (wasn't shown on video though) for refusing to cooperate with police or something.

There may already be a thread on the guy, so if this is redundant you admins can just delete it.

Yeah - seems Mr. Anderson chooses to be very hostile towards authority and has actively harassed security at airports and border patrol. Seems this one time he gave border patrol a REALLY hard time not opening his windows (he has darkened windows), refusing to cooperate when dogs alerted on his car and such. He ended up getting tazed and cut up a bit, needing stitches.

He's been very vocal against President Obama and many others - telling people to pray that the President dies and his wife has posted similar ideas on her blog.

They seem to have a cult following (and I'd most definitely call them a cult) and a very "separatist - government is evil and going to eat us alive" sort of attitude.

Apparently now, he was interviewed live on a couple of stations and, in the words of his wife, "he came out on top and the hosts all flustered and mad". CNN wanted to interview him but will only do a recorded interview which he refuses to do because otherwise they say there will be clips that will be taken out of context.

So, there's lots going on there. It's kind of like watching some train wreck, honestly.

A perfect example of how someone given a webcam, youtube, and a ridiculously extreme (dare I say reactionary) viewpoint and they will do everything in their power to smear Christ.

Baptist Press has a great first person article on this guy. He has shown himself to be outside of the qualifications for pastorship/eldership through his actions. He must be viewed as such.

His danger to Christianity outweighs the hilarity of watching his ridiculous videos.

Hmmmm- I think it's great we memorize Bible Scripture, but it is imperative that we understand and know how to apply it. Makes me remember when I was in the Army I could recite the four life-saving steps - but I did not know how to apply them - until some time later!

I am not sure how many colleges actually start new churches, usually it is mission boards (oh- I guess those are unbiblical as well)

So he was sent out by a local Baptist church. Back in 2006, his web site gave the name of that local church - hmm I wonder why that Baptist church is no longer listed?

Knocking on doors is scriptural? I don't think the Bible specifically requires it. (not that I am against it). In fact in this day and age, it may actually be illegal in some communities. And other methods may actually be more effective.

Hundreds have been saved - if true- great!, but how many of those who made "confessions" did it, just to get rid of you- and more importantly, how many of them are currently active in any local church

Mind you, I am excited when anyone accepts the Lord and is scripturally baptized, but...

On another site that is kind of a "board" for Anderson followers, they were bragging about the fact that they went out soul winning and had 78 decisions for Christ (or something like that). I asked how many of those would either then attend their church or be discipled by someone and what sort of follow-up they have.....and I was banned from the site! Apparently the idea of follow-up and discipleship was offensive or unBiblical?? Sad.
