I would like to propose that the Baptist Board host the R. B. O. - The Reorganization of Baptist Organizations.

We will require all Baptist groups to come together for a mass meeting. We will take the current 57+ Baptist groups and reduce them to only seven:

    1. Liberal Baptists
    2. Moderate Baptists
    3. Non-Committal Baptists
    4. conservative Baptist
    5. Fundamental Baptists
    6. Ultra Fundamental Baptist
    7. "We wont have anything to do with anybody else" Baptist

After we figure who becomes part of what groups, then all the Baptist schools and Agcy's will be divided based on membership.

Local churches may only be part one group

What other guidelines would we have?

    Think this will work?

PS, I nominate Dr. Bob to be the R. B. O. moderator,Debbie of Philly to be Secretary, and Tiny Tim to be the Sergeant of Arms. Do I have a second?

Interesting idea but it wouldn't work because most Baptist's cherish their individual ability (right?) to decide their stances on these issues, and many Baptists churches are a mixture of people who come from several of the groups you listed - they act just like regular people! Hopefully each is doing his/her best to be guided by the Spirit. In my many years in the National Guard the most bitter fights we usually had came from different viewpoints of how to be our best - rarely did anyone want to tear down the organization - but they viewed "the best way" quite differently and held to their viewpoints passionately - we shouldn't be surprised that is how people are at their church as well. Isn't there just two groups?

    1. What I believe.

    2. What all others believe.

what's wrong with the groups we have now. i think it would be easier to just leave it the way it is. and besides i like my name-- a conservative independent fundamental baptist. and a sidepoint it would take so much effort to explain the seven divisions that there is no way that all baptistscould be divided into seven groups.

    I like 2 groups

    1, the right one
    2 the wrong one

Of course everyone will think they belong to the right one, but in fact only the ones that agree with me belong to it....
Everyone else is predestined to be in the wrong one....

Sounds like we shouldn't arm the Sergent of Arms...

Salty, I've come to believe that there are only two true Baptists left on the Baptist Board: you and me. And I've been wondering about you lately! :tongue3:

But I'll second the nominations anyway, as long as I'm allowed to separate from everybody whenever I want to. Go ahead, tinytim, kick me out before I cause a split!
