I love how CTB will completely ignore legitimate, obvious, and well-thought out reasons that Obama is not good for the country.

Instead of dialoging on those, he finds some obscure stupid comment, and then pulls his high-and-mighty act.

He is completely intellectually dishonest, and I think he knows it.

Do you support this statement or not? Are you waiting for a "great white hope" to salvage the republican party or not? Answer the question!

Well, isn't this interesting. People can call Obama or others they consider 'liberal' all kinds of names, negative ones of course. But if a person gives a link to a news article that shows a Republican or conservative in a bad light they are to be condemned.

Now, be as considerate to Obama as you want others to be with this lady. OK?

What a silly non-point.

So...you can't call Obama "liberal?" Even though he is for a massive increase in government power and influence...and even though he is taking unprecedented action with regards to what the federal government is doing? Even though he is undertaking action that the US COnstitution does not allow? You can't call him "liberal," because that's "Bad?"

What a logically vapid line of reasoning. Is that the best you can do?

Of course, I did say her comment was stupid...but since that didn't help your cause (that being of painting Republicans as being backward racist hatemongering inbred brainless mouth-breathers), you conveniently ignored that.

See, here's your problem: You lie in your posts. Now...let's take someone like MP, with whom I often disagree. He's at least honest. And though we'll often disagree, there's potential, at times, for some form of common ground. But you're not honest with many of your posts. And when someone's not honest, any line of fruitful debate is unlikely.

Well, not that I expect you to be interested in actual dialogue here...oh well, I'll try:

  • I'm not a Republican. I've voted in the last elections for Democrats (not often, but there were a couple), Republicans, third-party candidates, and outright independents. I'm a heck of a lot more concerned about the country than I am the Republican party.
  • Race has absolutely nothing to do with my voting pattern. If you insist otherwise, I will take extreme offense at that. Don't you dare insinuate that my motives are racially based, or racist.
  • I'm not sure if the Republican party is salvageable. I do think that it is ruining our country more slowly than the Democrats...but there needs to be major changes.

What do you expect, it's targus.

The real racist here will never admit their crime. When something like this is brought up they clamor about attempting to cover their posterior and then crawl back under their rock.

A similar statement in another thread resulted in you apologizing. You might want to be careful.

I was not talking about anyone in particular, except this Jenkins woman who made this asinine statement. I do believe, metaphorically speaking, she should crawl back under her rock.

If some politican, such as let's say Rangel said we need a "great black hope" I have no doubt those here who defend Jenkins would attack Rangel with a passion.

Will you at least admit that many folks on this thread did not defend this woman?

You're acting as though there's this large-scale defense of what she said. There isn't. Now....I didn't count "critical statements" vs. "supportive statements." But I saw several statements by conservatives that her comments were stupid, should be retracted, etc.

How many posters here have condemned what she said?

"I hereby declare my own superior sensitivity and deflect any possible criticism of me by condeming this vile, reprehensible cretin that said something I don't like."

"Oh..and I apologize to all those cretins."

What she said was wrong. Now when are you going to condemn the calling of common U.S. citizens who protested at town hall meetings, "brown shirts" and other ugly names. That is much worse and destructive than what this twit of a Republican said. Of course, some are always looking to be insulted and offended. With them there is a racist behind every bush. It's part of the mantra.

You are aware are you not "Snow" that the chairman of the Republican Nat. Committee is; can I say black, African American, non white or just plain old Republican without being accused of racism?

The democrats/liberals/leftists have used the race card at least since FDR. They are experts at it. On this Forum the democrats/liberals/leftists are still trying to play the race card.

As I noted earlier the Obama crowd used it against Bill Clinton in the primary. Does that make Obama a racist? You support his program. Does that make you an abortionist, a racist, a socialist?

Did you mean the Cretins at Sparta, or the Spartans at Crete? (Sorry for ripping off Mel Brooks).

Snow, I believe you have a racist name, Snow as in White. Can you defend your use of it?

Isn't it racist to jump to the conclusion that this woman's words were racist based upon the fact that she is white ?

Robert, I didn't say you said these things. But, some birds of your feather have said them. Yet, you remain silent in you condemnation.

Ever hear a black person use this phrase in general conversation?

Boggles the mind that anyone elected to Congress could be so unlearned to have never heard the phrase, "great white hope," used in a historical context.

Hmmm... This would imply that she may have said what she did because she is so unlearned that she never heard the phrase in a historical context.

In that case she would be unlearned rather than racist.

So it follows then that to jump to the conclusion that her words were racist based on the fact that she is white is racism in itself.

You seemed to have backed into something here.
