Lol. Yes they have
Finally, if the GOP loses a third Presidential election in 2016, with the possibility of losing a fourth in 2020 on the horizon, one would think that the party will finally wake up and realize that they need to do something about the direction of their party. The question is whether they’ll be able to do it in time to escape the inevitable slide into minority status that their current actions seem to be heading them towards.

No they didn't. Had Trump not come along they would be in the situation the DNC is now. The only question now is did they learn from this election.

The Republican voters learned it, and that's what counts.

Nope, this year was a near run thing. Without Trump, the GOP would have lost. Trump, was able to draw in the blue collar union working vote. In earlier years, the demographic was called "Regan Democrats." However, in 20xx, they are shrinking in numbers. Trump was able to gain a few percentage points in the Black vote by calling the Democrats' bluff with the urban Black population. It's not that the GOP need to change its basic message. It needs to change its perception of being a Whites only club.

Guys, read the article. The point is that Trump is just the opposite everything the Dems said Republicans needed to be to win. Yeah, the establishment didn't care about winning. There's no question there, but the lessons needed to be learned was not what Dems and losing Republicans preached.

Oops.

President-elect Donald Trump revealed Wednesday that he consults with President Barack Obama on some of his potential appointments -- and values the President's views.
"I have asked him what he would think of this one and that one," Trump told NBC's Matt Lauer on "The Today Show." "I take his recommendations very seriously," Trump added.
Trump also said he has talked to Obama about his perspective on the greatest challenges facing America.
"I've asked him what he thinks are the biggest problems, greatest assets," Trump said in the interview with Lauer, which was focused on Trump being named on Wednesday as Time's "Person of the Year." "We have very good dialogue."

But, you still need the votes to elect your candidate. The problem is the GOP's main demographic is shrinking. I said they didn't need to change the message. They need to overcome the Democratic propaganda. Trump did by pointing out the Democratic failure in the big cities.

Another problem - Coal miners and Hillary's statement to the effect that she would be putting a lot of coal miners out of work (oops).
Then she tried to wriggle her way out of that one when she was called down by saying that there would be retraining available to the unemployed miners.
OK what happens while we wait for the retraining (should it ever actually happen)?

“So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them, because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted,” Obama said during a 2008 interview with the San Francisco Chronicle’s editorial board. Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton also pledgedthat “We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.”

The left has been on a war against jobs in this country because those jobs do not fit their narrative. It is unamerican. This has been the primary reason these jobs have disappeared. -
