I will only comment with the Word of God:
But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out. (

I believe, Richard Roberts did
the right thing in resigning. Let us pray that the new president will be one who honors and obeys the Lord.
I am not here to condemn or condone the Roberts of their deeds. Just glad that Richard resign.as president of ORU. You have to admit what the professors did namely shining light on wrongdoings
should be applauded for standing up for what is right!

Would any of their Board of Regents be of the same stripe as RR? Things like Charismatic signs and wonders, popularity, big money, private jets? If so, it would be a tall order for the foxes to clean up the henhouse.
Those professors who came out of them and became separate are to be saluted (2 Cor. 6:17f.) for their courage and conviction. What are the chances of another J. Gresham Machen exodus?

Seems like the Chronicle of Higher Education has also weighed in on this:
Despite the controversies, Mr. Roberts has declared his intention to remain as chairman and chief executive of Oral Roberts Ministries, the central organization in the empire that includes the university.
Because of the ties between the two groups, Mr. Roberts's resignation from the university will have limited effect on his ability to misuse its funds if he remains in control of Oral Roberts Ministries, Tim Brooker, one of the three former professors who brought the lawsuit, told The Oklahoman, a newspaper in Oklahoma City.

The university, meanwhile, has reported itself as more than $50 million in debt. Much of the debt stems from the failure of the university's City of Faith hospital complex, which was intended to combine modern medicine with a belief in the power of prayer.

I wonder if someone could post a fuller quote from CHE; this is all I could find from the source at http://blog.christianitytoday.com/ctliveblog/archives/2007/11/will_richard_ro.html

Well, it's $70 million this time
ORU gets a promised $70 million infusion, and Richard Roberts appears to say it's God who told him to quit last Friday and who promised him some "supernatural" blessing if he would do so.

Richard Roberts told Oral Roberts University students Wednesday that God spoke to him last Thursday and told him to resign.
Students cheered and cried as Roberts spoke for about three minutes at the school's chapel service Wednesday, five days after his resigned as the school's president.
Roberts told the students that God spoke to him Thursday and told him to step down. Roberts said he initially resisted the instructions, but God told him that if he would resign, the school would be blessed ''supernaturally.''
Roberts resigned Friday.
On Tuesday, Yukon businessman Mart Green promised the school up to $70 million, more than enough to erase the school's debt.

Can you identify any of the Board of Regents (seated in front)?
Oral Roberts University -- whose
namesake founder told believers to
"Expect a Miracle" -- received an offer of a $70 million bailout Tuesday if
the school will reform its practices.
The money would be enough to
wipe out a massive debt troubling
the school, but the offer by a Yukon
businessman came only after Oral
Roberts' son, Richard Roberts, had
to leave the ORU presidency.
Mart Green, whose family founded the Hobby Lobby chain of craft
stores, promised the gift provided
the university shows "good governance" of its finances.
