In the vane of the "false devils" it seems to me that too many Christians pour righteous indignation into the wrong things. Attacking other Christians is easy and requires nothing in return. It is comfortable to attack and sit back with satisfaction.
Attacking the evils of the world may require some action on the part of the attacker. It is often uncomfortable to attack evil and have to do something about it.

Sometimes, it seems we want to attack Catholics, liberals, high taxes and Democrats more than we want to attack poverty and hunger.

Last Sunday my dh preached on revival. He used the illustration of drawing a circle, steeping into that circle, then praying for God to bring revival STARTING in that circle. We all have areas in our lives that need work, that's for sure. -
Reminds me of last Sunday at church....the sermon was based on the Gospel reading of Luke 18:9-14 and also the Epistle, 1 Cor. 12:2-11.
It is sometimes easy to think we are better than others and delude ourselves as being more gifted etc. Oh it can be hard to humble, and when not picking on the government, police, foreigners, other religions we can so easily squabble amongst family and co religionists and a host of others.:tonofbricks: -
I prefer to make my statement and shut up. Argumentation seems so useless, especially in here. On people, we can always find something good. It may take a little searching, but it is there. Find it and expand on it. The evil will reveal itself if enough good is brought forward.
Cheers,
Jim
