If he stays in 3rd place, or moves up into 2nd place in the polls I'm going to have to reevaluate him as a candidate. Starting to see HavensDad's point that Paul gets ignored by the media.
Also look at the subgroup preference poll. Paul is strong among young people, Perry has the older crowd. Bachmann has no particular strength.
His best showing is the USA Today/Gallop with 14%
(3rd out of 8 candidates)
His lowest showing is McClatchy/Marist with 3%
(tied for 7th place out of 10 candiates)
Thats right, she was averaging 10-13 % but now she is back to single digits.
Actually, I would like to see the polls done the way the NCAA does it polls for Football:
First place = 10 points, second, 9 points, third 8 points... 10th 1 point.
Then you would see how many total votes and first place votes a candidate did receive.
That should have NOTHING to do with whether or not a man should be president. I have known several guys that spent time in Viet Nam, that you would NEVER want as president.
Bottom line is, McCain is a sheisty, slippery establishment guy. He had no business getting the nomination.
"Sigh".....I never said he did. I simply attributed his rise to prominence to his time in that camp.
I voted for Chuck Colson, Constitution Party out of Florida..
I disagree -
your conduct in a war zone and esp as a POW gives a good indication as to your character.
Also having been in the military, will give you a better perspective of the misison - which is one the very FEW constitutinal activites of the Federal Govt.
Mind you - just because a man is a Veteran, combat hero, or even a POW; does not automaticaly means he gets my vote - but it does carry some weight.
Definitely disagree. Most of the time military men have a "status quo" "obey the present rules" mentality, that inhibits there ability to make drastic sweeping changes...the kind we need right now. It also frequently results in insanity with those who have actually spent time fighting... something that is certainly not a "plus" in my book.
At best, time in the military is a complete non-issue either way in my opinion.
It would be interesting to discuss your military time - But I along with many other NCO's & Officers knew when we should buck the system. The old "Thats the way we have always done it" is not a sufficent answer to a true leader. The military can make and train a "go-getter" leader.
