As pointed out, this is no shock. Ron is quite liberal. What is worse, his personality is much more strident than his father's.

Ron Reagan Jr. is a Deocrat and an atheist. Of course he will be at the DNC advocating the pro-death agenda. This is not news except for the liberal media is trying to capitalize and exploit the fact that he is President Reagan's son. He does not represent the faith or the values of his father. If you want a better picture of that, you would have to meet his other son, the one that President Reagan chose, Michael Reagan.

Ron Reagan is allowed to his personal opinion, independent of his parents. I respect him, even though I disagree with him politically.

I don't withhold respect for people just because they're not of the same political party as I. I certainly respect Jimmy Carter, and he was a liberal democrat.

Got a tract at the SBC annual meeting about Michael Reagan. It's called Twice Adopted. Actually it is a preview of a Broadman & Holman Publishers book to be released October 1, 2004. Check with Lifeway online.

I wonder what Michael thinks of his brother's recent comments about Bush and his faith?

I beleive that Michael Reagan wrote a column basically stating that his brother's views about stem cell research do not represent the views of his entire family.

Some local Democrat had a column in the Indianapolis newpaper yesterday complaining because Bush won't spend more federal money on stem cell research. She said that Bush was anti-intellectual. Wonder why medical science won't spend private money? Could it be that it is a dead-end street? I hope Ron Reagan charges his fellow Democrats a huge fee for his speech.

That tends to be true of kids whose parents don't go to church much.

And you base this on what? Kids whose parents don't go to church much end up being Democrats and atheists?

I would probably enjoy Ron Reagan's speech at the Democratic National Convention if he would restrict his comments to talking about dogs. I enjoy his reporting at dogs shows on Animal Planet.

Perhaps, but I believe Nancy Reagan is strongly in favor of the research that may help others who will be in her husband's condition. I had read that Ron jr. had received her approval on this.

She is wrong, and the Democrats are exploiting her grief for political gain. Shame.

I will not blast Nancy, but I will say that her views are opposite of what Ronald Reagan's views were.

This should not surprise anyone. Disappointing yes! Shocking no!
It’s very sad that he is using his father’s death. Let’s pray for Ron! And others who are so blinded by darkness!

I guess comments like this disturb me more because they are from Christians. :(
At least we can understand Ron’s view from an unsaved opinion.

How is having her grownup son speak exploiting her grief?

Mrs. Reagan herself is petitioning the Bush administration to change its stance. Link Those evil Democrats just won't stop their exploitation of her.

Do you have any source on what her husband's view on this was?

No, but we know that President Reagan opposed abortion. That is the basis for the opposition to fetal stem cells. There are adult stem cells that serve science better. Also, President Bush only limited the expenditure of federal money on this issue. Private money can be spent in unlimited amounts.

The people wanting to use federal money for fetal stem cells are pro-choice and are trying to use a medical research issue to support the continuation of abortion.

Stem cell research should be increased. The possibilities are limitless in helping people with horrible diseases. This should be a no brainer.
