Rubio’s night shocked Iowa political observers like Robinson, who had predicted Rubio would wind up far behind Trump and Cruz, with perhaps around 15-18 percent of the vote. He finished with 23 percent.

Rubio's performance will strengthen his argument that supporters of other moderate, establishment candidates such as former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and Ohio governor John Kasich should throw their support, and their money, behind him.....

Ah yes, the assumptive statement, "other moderate establishment candidates".

You have not proven that Rubio is a moderate or an establishment candidate. Why is Rubio a moderate establishment candidate?

Rubio billed the Florida GOP for a new car once and he barely escaped indictment over a real estate deal. He is a beautiful speaker but needs more time to mature.

I think that Fox News is pushing Rubio because owner Rupert Murdoch likes him. Rupert is not the same as Captain H. M. "Howling Mad" Murdock of the A-Team, as you know.

I think Rubio is the most intelligent of the bunch as well as clearly the best debater. He can bring together all sides of the party. He is also shown in national polls to have the highest probability to beat Hillary, then comes Trump. Cruz is too far right and in my opinion he is the one Hillary is voting for to win the nomination. I don't think anybody other than these three are serious candidates that have a realistic chance of winning the Republican nomination. I hope in the next couple weeks after the New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada primaries we see the field dwindle way down so we can have some more focused debates just between the serious contenders. I will be voting for Rubio, but Trump may have already run away with things by the time my state of Ohio finally gets to vote. I would vote for any of the three over Sanders, Clinton, or any other liberal.

Santorum threw his support behind Rubio earlier today.

Rick Santorum drops out of 2016 GOP race, endorses Rubio

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum is dropping out of the race for the White House, he confirmed via a statement in which he threw his support behind Marco Rubio.

“So thankful & grateful for your support. Just not our year. So today please join me in supporting @marcorubio,” he posted on Twitter on Wednesday evening.

After a dismal performance in the Iowa caucus — receiving only 1 percent of the vote, resulting in zero delegates — there had been speculation that Santorum might withdraw his candidacy for the Republican nod.

His campaign struggled to find its footing within the overcrowded GOP field — especially with media savvy real estate mogul Donald Trump and breakout contender Texas Sen. Ted Cruz vying for the top spot.

Rubio solidified his credentials among conservatives with a third-place finish in Iowa. He garnered 23 percent of the vote, just one percentage point behind Trump.

A Santorum aide had told the Washington Post earlier Wednesday that he was scheduled to make “two major announcements” on Fox News. He is expected to discuss the end of his campaign and which of his rivals earned his endorsement.

Santorum was also a candidate for the GOP’s presidential nomination in 2012. He won Iowa with 24.6 percent of the vote but ultimately lost the party’s nomination to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

Earlier Wednesday, libertarian-minded Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul also announced that he was suspending his presidential bid. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee withdrew his candidacy Monday night.

Hi Brother,

That should add about half a percentage to Rubio if ALL of Santorum's supporters vote for him LOL ( I say this jokingly even though I am going to vote for Rubio and like Santorum). He just never had the similar momentum he did like the last time he ran when he won Iowa. I think this time Santorum got about 1%. Anybody know who Rand Paul now supports (if any candidate) since I heard he too is out? He doesn't seem to have much in common with any of the others with his isolationist military views.

From the Tampa Bay Times newspaper -

"Those expenses include a $1,000 charge at Braman Honda in Miami for repairs to the family car in January 2008. Rubio said the minivan was damaged by parking attendants at a political function and that the party agreed to cover half of his insurance deductible. The party also paid $2,976 for him to rent a car in Miami for five weeks."

I know Brother Joseph. Biggrin But it makes me wonder. Santorum got a lot of the evangelical vote back in the early primaries of 2012. So I'm wondering why he didn't endorse Cruz? On Greta's (Van Sustern) show, he mentioned someone who would fight for the same things that he would and that they shared the same values.

They are both Roman Catholics though. That may be it.

I don't think Rand Paul is gonna support any of them at least not at this moment from what I've read.

Marco Rubio's immigration stand is going to hurt him with principled conservatives. I'm working on the Cruz campaign in a county in Central Florida. I can tell from first hand experience that many of the Cruz grass roots volunteers are highly motivated because Cruz' positions validate what they believe. If it were not for Cruz they would stay home. Most of these people will not participate in a Rubio campaign. Why? They believe that if Rubio can strike a deal with the likes of Chuck Schumer, then he's already displayed a weakness that he'll carry with him into the White House.

It would be really hard for a candidate to be more republican "establishment" than Marco Rubio.

I am asking this sincerely--Why is Marco Rubio an "establishment" candidate? He was the original Tea Party senator, and has a fabulous conservative voting record in the US Senate. Is it the misguided immigration bill?

He is a charismatic neocon instrument that needs to be defeated.

He will be defeated by the neocon instrument Hillary Clinton the globalist's preferred tool.

Cruz has peaked. The establishment is terrified of Trump so they're pushing Rubio to the top to lose to Hillary.

Trump is the one guy that stands in the way of the Europeanozation of the United States. Rubio isn't that guy. Cruz isn't that guy and Hillary is most definitely not that guy.

The globalists could always have Rubio fall on his sword late in the game and bring in JEB.

Bottom line is the game is rugged in favor of the "money powers".

Stuff like being tied at the hip to billionaire Paul Singer and a host of what others have called establishment billionaires.

Paul Singer, Influential Billionaire, Throws Support to Marco Rubio for President

One of the wealthiest and most influential Republican donors in the country is throwing his support to Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, a decision that could swing millions of dollars in contributions behind Mr. Rubio at a critical point in the Republican nominating battle.

The decision by the donor, Paul Singer, a billionaire New York investor, is a signal victory for Mr. Rubio in his battle with his rival Jeb Bush for the affections of major Republican patrons and the party’s business wing.

It comes as a major blow to Mr. Bush, who is seeing his once vigorous campaign imperiled by doubts among supporters, and whose early dominance of the race was driven by his financial muscle. Mr. Bush and several other candidates, including Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey, had competed fiercely for Mr. Singer’s blessing.

In a letter that Mr. Singer sent to dozens of other donors on Friday, which was obtained by The New York Times, Mr. Singer described Mr. Rubio — who was elected to the Senate in the Tea Party wave but has been embraced by the party’s Washington elite — as the only candidate who can “navigate this complex primary process, and still be in a position to defeat” Hillary Rodham Clinton in a general election.

Marco Rubio lands billionaire GOP donor Ken Griffin

Washington (CNN)Ken Griffin, one of the Republican Party's biggest donors, is backing Marco Rubio for president, the latest top-tier financier to align with Rubio in recent months.

Griffin, the wealthiest man in Illinois and the head of the investment firm Citadel, told CNBC on Wednesday that he would back Rubio and give "several million dollars" to Rubio's super PAC, which can accept unlimited contributions. Rubio's campaign confirmed the planned support.

Some of the leading Republican moneymen over the past eight weeks have formally committed to Rubio, who has not built as much money for his campaign as he has buzz. Griffin had previously told CNBC that he was deciding between Rubio and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who won much of the early money from the Republican establishment.

"I think that Marco Rubio has the vision of where America needs to go," Griffin said.

The Chicagoan gave $3.8 million to conservative candidates and outside groups in 2014, the seventh most of any person in the country, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. The top Republican giver, Paul Singer of New York, previously pledged to support Rubio as well.

Rubio Is Poised to Win the Billionaire Primary

From a man who bought an island to a developer with Hitler paintings, a range of very wealthy donors are backing Marco Rubio.

...
Sheldon Adelson

The sought-after billionaire is leaning toward Rubio. Rubio may soon be the official winner of the so-called "Adelson primary," the ritual that sends Republican candidates on a pilgrimage to Las Vegas to win the support of the staunchly Zionist casino magnate worth $26 billion. According to Politico:

Rubio and Adelson have grown increasingly close, with the senator phoning the billionaire several times a month to provide in-depth updates on the state of his campaign. The two men also have detailed policy discussions, especially about international affairs and Israel—the latter a cause near and dear to the mogul. Adelson has long looked favorably on Rubio, a fellow son of immigrants.

Trump tweeted on Tuesday that Adelson liked Rubio because the senator from Florida is a "perfect little puppet."

...

Larry Ellison

The Oracle founder, worth an estimated $54 billion, bought a Hawaiian island for nearly $300 million and famously turned the America's Cup boat race into a deadly affair. Though he has donated to both Democrats and Republicans in the past, Ellison gave $3 million to Mitt Romney's super-PAC in 2012. As of the latest filings, he has given $3 million to Conservative Solutions PAC, the super-PAC supporting Rubio, and has not donated to any other campaign's super-PACs. He has also given $5,400 directly to Rubio's campaign.

...

Norman Braman

The billionaire Miami car dealer has been in Rubio's corner since the beginning of the race—and a long time before that. He's offered financial support to Rubio throughout his career, funding his political campaigns and buoying his personal finances. Braman has at different times hired both Rubio, as a lawyer, and his wife, Jeanette, to advise his philanthropic foundation. As of this summer, Braman had donated $5 million to Rubio's super-PAC, and he had not given to any competing super-PACs.

Harlan Crow

In September, Rubio came under fire for holding a fundraiser on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur at the home of this multimillionaire real estate developer, who among his vast collection of art and historical artifacts owns two paintings by Adolf Hitler and a signed copy of his book, Mein Kampf. Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz called Rubio's decision to attend the fundraiser that day "a gross act of disrespect." Rubio pushed back. "I was outraged because this is a private citizen and individual who participates in the political process, [and] anyone who knows him for two seconds realizes he's not a Nazi sympathizer," Rubio said.

Yeah, so? All politicians (except maybe Sanders) get donations from wealthy contributors. Frequently these people give to more than one candidate. Supposing these wealthy people's political views line up with your own? Then, what's the problem?

The problem is the global elite's views don't line up with normal human being's views.

They hate us all equally and they use politicians like we use toilet paper.

  • The Club for Growth calls him the "gold standard for conservatives" (along with Cruz)
  • The Council Against Gov't Waste called him the "Taxpayers Superhero" and gave him 100% in 2014. (Cruz also = 100%)
  • The NARAL, Pro Choice America, gives him a score of 0.
