Rudy will get my support if he changes his stance on gun control, gay marriage, & abortion. Not likely.

Bush is far right compared to Giuliani. If he disavows support for gun control, gay marriage and abortion choice, he'll throw away all that he has ever stood for....well, except law & order, that's always been his thing.church mouse guy said:I think that Rudy will stand down on these issues. It is up to conservatives to show some leadership and take care of some of these domestic cultural issues themselves. Gun control and gay marrriage are terrible things and I doubt if Rudy will hold to those issues on a national level. As for abortion, he may be persuaded to change to pro-life as time goes by. The important point is that a GOP president needs a landslide margin in the two houses of Congress in order to overcome the liberal Republicans who have bothered Bush by voting with the Democrats. If we fail to win victory in the war against terrorists, then all domestic and cultural issues will be lost in the economic and military collapse.

He's a former mayor. I'm not sure what he knows about defense.church mouse guy said:No, he has stood for a strong defense and that is where he has Hillary on the ropes.

If he wins, I don't think you'll like him.
Rew_10 said:And yet this section is for debate among all Christians and not just Baptists. Do you plan on debating homosexuality by everyone just agreeing with eachother? Seems to defeat the purpose, but what do I know?
And of course denial is always the best course of action if you wish never to acknowledge another point of view.
church mouse guy said:Oh, I am sure that Hillary will try to call him a flip-flopper but remember that the Democrat Party has a pro-abortion plank and the GOP has a pro-life plank. Rudy will say that he will stand on the planks of his party's majority, which is a proper stand for any candidate. All candidate have had to stand on planks that the majority has agreed upon.
Furthermore, those the stand against gun ownership is New York City limited and to the detriment of life in New York City. Here in Indianapolis, gun permits are given for personal protection so such a law can work in a big city like New York also.
As for same-sex benefits, etc, Rudy here is Hudson River limited as New York is a major homosexual center, but then so is Indianapolis and we have avoided same-sex marriage in Indiana so far.
And remember, as McCarthy said about Rudy, "...But his positions have not signaled conventional liberalism. He has governed as a limited-government conservative...."

Was that verse true or false? If you believe it to be true, then you have cause to believe the rest of the Bible and you will cease from your pro-sodomite positions. If you believe it to be false, then I would encourage you to seek the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, at which point you will believe the Bible is the Word of God and cease from your pro-sodomite positions.Rew_10 said:<deleted LE>

I was just finding it difficult to reconcile your positions and wanted to hear you confirm that you are a Christian. With that settled, how do you know that Christ is truth if you do not know that the Bible is? Meaning, if you do not have faith that 2 Timothy 3:16 is inspired, how can you be sure John 3:16 is?Rew_10 said:Refus, I am definitely "pro-Christ" as you say and I definitely find it offensive that you extrapolate from my other views the idea that I can't be a Christian.
Sure I would. I would go live like the heathen do and serve my flesh as their would be no hope for tomorrow and no accountability to God.Rew_10 said:Rufus, it is my nature and the way my mind operates to question the unknown and seek answers outside of the box.
None of us can know for sure that any of the Bible is fact in our time here on Earth, but I do hope and have faith that it is(besides all the parts which I don't believe are fact  ). And if tomorrow, all of the Bible was proven false without a shadow of a doubt, would you live your life differently? Would you lose your morals and cease to be a good person?
One of the messages of the Bible is that all scripture is inspired by God. Why don't you believe that message?I chose to live my life as a Christian because I believe in the message of the Bible and in God. Questioning everything comes as naturally as breathing for me, and to not question would be to lie to who I am.
