Condi isn't running in 08, and so far, I see very little reason why she should. Maybe you could tell me why I would support her. If you think it is for her most recent policies in Israel, I am sorry, but that isn't going to cut it with me. What, in your mind, is so great about Condi? What do you actually know about her stands on the issues that affect us?
Sell Condi to me. I, personlly, would much rather see someone like Tancredo or Holt run.

Did Condi take up a running program?

Plus, from a practical political calculation view, Condi appears to be the only person who can defeat Senator Clinton in 2008. A male candidate will have a very, very difficult time being hard-nosed with Clinton without coming across as verbally beating up on a woman. -
What evidence is there that she knows foreign policy? Israel? I hate to break it to you, but I am not the least bit impressed with her mediocre work there. What has she done with foreign policy that is so great? Where does she stand on domestic issues? What about social issues? What is her foreign policy philosophy?

Condi has done as well as any American Secretary of State can with the Israeli-Palestinians. The two sides themselves, especially the Palestinians, aren't handling the situation very well and they are the ones most affected.
Condi has given voice to moderation in U.S. foreign policy and steered it away from the cowboyish, go-it-alone policies of the first Bush term that landed us in Iraq with very little support from our allies. -
1. Yep. I would say she is about average...mediocre...there is nothing really there that would make her stand out as being any better than anyone else. Sorry. That is not good enough for me.
2. The Israelis have gone out of their way to accomodate the Palestinians and move toward peace. There is absolutely no moral equivliance between them and the Palestinians. I agree, however, that the Palestinians have done very little to move toward disarming the terrorists and achieving peace. They don't have to, after all when you have a mediocre SOS like Rice pushing for Israel to give them the moon complete with timelines, etc... and then settles for nothing but lip service from the PA. If she really understood foreign policy, she would be pushing for reciprocity complete with timelines, disarmed terrorist groups, etc...
We haven't seen that so far.
3. Basically, what you are saying is that we should like her because she is a wimp?
Still not impressed.
Joseph Botwinick -
2. Condi is no wimp.
-
Ken do you got a crush on Condi? ;)
-
Condi has done nothing that is really that great. She is average to mediocre at best. I see no reason to promote her to President.
Further, I think Bush's policies in Iraq were, for the most part, the right thing to do. His only mistake, which is probably attributable to Condi based on your description of her above, was messing around with the UN and Europe trying to get them to go to war with us when they were in the enemy's back pocket all along. I still believe there are WMD's and they are probably hidden somewhere in Iran or Syria today due to the fact that, unlike Reagan in Lybia, Bush projected to the whole world months in advanced exactly what his intentions were and gave Saddam time to hide the WMD's and plan the terrorist insurgency. Bush messed up by being a wimp and trying to get other wimps to go along with us. He did the right thing when he told the wimps to fly a kite and took care of business.
Finally, I think your standards for SOS are way too low.
Joseph Botwinick -
I think you are foreign policy knowledge challenged.
-
I think you politically schizophrenic, and probably a bit of a political opportunist with no real convictions. And then there is this matter of how you change your mind with the winds, or the win / loss ratio of the Razorbacks.

You might like Condi for this, Joseph:
